    This is exactly the position I was in - so I phoned today. The woman was very apologetic and said that cancellation emails should have been sent by their automated system but there were a handful of people that had not received them.

    She said that they are currently 'reviewing the situation' and that I would *definitely* be informed when a decision had been made about it.

    I won't be holding my breath....
    I ordered from Virgin on the 19th, got the auto-confirmation email, the cash was taken from my account on the 23rd and recredited on the 24th. They cant do this can they? Ive heard nothing from them. I emailed them today just to 'check the order status', but i know what they are goning to come back at me with.....same as everyone else. Oh well, maybe ill get an email this week? ???

    With watchdog involved this could really be the turning point.

    I have reported Tesco Online to Watchdog.
    They (in my opinion) have now clearly broken the Trades Description Act.
    They stated in an email cancelling my order that they could not obtain stock of the Coloseum Bundle.
    That was obviously deception.
    They clearly do have stock as it is again advertised on their website. Okay it's differently described, as you would expect, and they've cleverly not used the same "bundle " photo as before. I bet when people order them though it comes in a box identical to last week's photo! If they would have just stated "Sorry it was a Website error" then that would have been the end of the matter! Now as far as I am concerned they lied to all of us and I will take the matter further! >:(

  • I agree. i have also been lied to.told it was a "bundle of games" but was given no description of the games i had placed an order for.

    Told the image was incorrect.under dsl doesnt the image need to refect the product ?

    Frend told it was price error

    i was told it was a bundle but on special offer, no stock available.

    the bundle was released on 12-11-2004 and is THE SAME as they sell in electrical.

    I may bloody well buy one and check if its the same item !
    deffo complaining to tesco about their cs .

    Was expecting a cancelled order due to price mistake. would have accepted that.

    LOL i got the same email about their suppliers and wrote back saying why dont you just be honest and say it was a mistake,at least give your customers some respect,at least woolies have not readvertised and just changed the advert and write up

    they did not include a picture (no trade descriptions act breach)

    and the item desciption depicts a game story listing it as 1 disk

    the only thing in the favour is the use of the word "bundle" in the title :-/

    re the email confirmation / receipt this states money is taken at time of ordering rather than dispatch which does constitute a contract. I have yet to check my bank account but other are reporting that it has been refunded without prior notice - possible grounds for breach of contract.
