ive got the chance of rehoming a 9 month old pug. As you can see he is totally gorgeous and ive totally fallen for him. Problem is though that a) we are moving house in sept so would this unsettle him and b) we are going away for 2 weeks in October to cyprus. I have got friends and family that i know would take care of him but again i worry that this just isnt fair on him. What do you think??? This is him by the way:

People move with animals all the time.
If he has a loving home, he won't care.

Again as for hols, better to have a loving home & put up with two weeks in kennels than not such a good home.

I'm not really a dog lover, but he is cute.
Looks like my persian cat ;-)

I would take him if I were you - he's gorgeous. If you take him now by the time you go on holiday in October he will be settled with you so there is no reason why he should be stressed by it. Lots of people put young puppies in kennels when they go on holiday and, as far as I know, they are fine.

Again, moving house should not be particularly stressful for him. He will still have you and your family. It is probably more stressful for cats because they have to be kept in and then they are in an unfamiliar area and cats are usually very territorial.

If ever a dog had pleading eyes, this one's it!

I think he'd cope with the small interruptions tbh.

    He's so cute!

I agree with the other posters so far. It's better for him to have a loving home and a 2 week holiday interruption, then not have a home at all :)

Due to the circumstances at the time, I put my newly rehomed mutt in kennls for 2 weeks a fortnight after getting her from the rescue centre. Not my cleverest move, but she coped ok.
Your pup has a couple of months to get to know the people he'll be staying with, and as long as they keep reasonably closely to his normal routine, he'll be fine. A good home ( even if it keeps moving!) is a heck of a sight better than no home at all.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Go for it - better he gets used to this now. Loads of people get dogs and stay at home with them to "settle" them. WRONG. The dog just thinks this is how life is and gets upset when there is change.

I have just counted up and we have moved 4 times in 7 years, and had 3 other cats, and yet my Flump adores me, thats just how her life is and she accepts it/us. She would have been PTS as was so upset in kennels if I didn't take her!

Pugs are fab, I know I'm not allowed to say this, but if you don't take him I will. Getting a nice adult pug to rehome is so rare! He has good eyes and skin, but be prepared for the puggy snoring!

  • wow, he's adorable! are those "adopt me!" eyes or what lol. moving house and holidays won't bother him, especially if he doesn't have to go to kennels and is only staying with you're friends/family, he might even like his own little holiday!
