Well got back from the Vets and he has said that it is a false pregnancy. OMG i would not of tho that but it figures now because she is carrying a squeeky little chicken around with her and sleeping with it. He said she has got milk so is being treated for it. £440 later!! Well she being spayed in July so hopefully this will stop.0

Hip scores for parents should be below the current breed mean score for Labradors which is 15. Eye tests should be clear and have been carried out within the last 12 months. It is also increasingly recommended that Labs are elbow scored (in an effort to reduce the incidence of elbow dysplasia)...only a score of 0 is really acceptable in a breed with a gene pool as massive as Labs (a score of 1 might be considered ok in breeds with much smaller gene pools where everything else about the dog is exemplary).0

It's still way to early for agility I'm afraid
Depending on your trainer then I'd say nothing more than VERY light agility until your dog is a year old as they are still growing and developing and you could put too much pressure on joints and so on.
Yes you are in for a busy 10-15 years I'm afraid... Whilst a GORGEOUS dog then you have chosen just about one of the most intensive dogs going...
I have a GSD/BC cross and she's bad enough! Go to puppy classes to make sure the pup gets socialised loads whilst young, then obedience - remember you have to be far more stubborn than the dog - quite a task with a BC!
Plenty of long walks, when a little older get things like busta cubes (a puzzle you can use to feed the dry food in) and kongs with frozen treats in to make them last longer.
To find local training groups try asking at your local vets and animal rescues. I found several through our village newsletter too so that might be worth a go?
Good luck and uhmmm

yes, border collies need A LOT of exercise and training to keep them physically and mentally stimulated, they are extremely intelligent dogs and get bored easily.
when he is fully grown he will need at the very minimum an hour a day exercise, preferably 2 hours. this would be an hour or so on lead and another hour or so running off lead. He would really benefit from having a playmate, another dog, as collies are also very social and love to have another dog to play with. He'd also probably love agility when he's older as it is great exercise and gives him something to think about, you can enroll in classes to train for this as it is quite difficult to train a dog to do agility yourself.
you should be enrolling him in puppy training classes right now as it is a great opportunity to get him socializing with other dogs and people and also learning his basic obedience.
When he is 6 months old you can get him neutered as well.
