Butter - £2.24 label, charged me £2.52 at the till. This has actually happened on a number of items over time, 20p or 30p more than price shown.

Report them to Trading Standards for overchargeing.

My local Co-op has plenty of staff but often has out of date produce on display. For example, satsumas that were mouldy and cheese that was past its sell-by date. I always ask for a receipt as their BOGOFs don't always apply. The checkout operators look at me as if I'd asked them for some money out of their own pockets! I only go there when I have to, not because I want to shop there.

I am another who uses it just for the basics, bread and milk usually.

I live in Leicestershire and was well pleased to hear that the Oakham store was burnt down.

That's what happens to a company that:

    1) Rips its customers off on everything

    2) Employs muppets at the weekends and has one till going when there are 8 people waiting to be served

    3) Intends to build an eco-town called Pennbury right on my doorstep when absolutely no-one wants it.

I hope many other Co-op stores suffer the same fate.

    Thieves.

I think you're reading into things a bit. Probably more like random arson.

They have much higher overheads than Tesco etc therefore will cost more.

Sometimes shops are short staffed, tough!

Erm, I must have counted 5 people 'dressing forward' products. No sign of management anywhere.

You must be one of few who thinks the Co-op is wonderful.

I find that hard to believe.

I have the misfortune of having a number of Co-Ops near me. I often joke that the service at tills is so slow (almost as slow as their cash machines, but not as slow as Yorkshire Bank machines). Staff just seem to ponder and dwell at the tills.

It amuses me when after they have rung the till for say a purchase of £2.46 and I've given the a £10 note, then offer them the 6p in copper to avoid loose change...

That makes no sense, it amuses you that you give them 6p?

It's the customers who cause delays at the till anyway.

Timtims, I don't think you get it!! Think about it, and if you still don't get it, then I'm sure someone will explain...

My local Co op is a nightmare for pricing, but thankfully they have a large computer screen displaying what they've scanned, so you can keep an eye on it, and point out when something's come up wrong.

They're great late at night, about 30 minutes before closing. Last night (very tired after lots of driving) I picked up a quiche reduced from £2.39 to 20p!!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
