After a lovely sunny start early this morning, it has been pouring down for most of the day.Didnt go and look for garden furniture, couldnt see the point in the rain.
Did any-one watch the 30`s,40`s and 50`s wives last night? I could`nt believe it, what a way to live, the 30`s wife didnt use her 30`s cooker much as it took hours to heat up, so she used the microwave which was hidden in a cupboard, and to use it she had to kneel down on the floor:eek:
smacks of Stepford wives to me :rotfl:

Off to make a drink now, might be back later.

Oh my...it's absolutely tipping it down here
I walked into town earlier and it was really warm, although the fact I was in jeans and my wool jacket might have had something to do with it.
Miss Twit and her pal have returned to the punk fest, there were some quite dishy punks in town today.....think I might go next year.....that will horrify Miss Twit ;)
Just about to put some tea in the oven and I'll get my ironing board set up for NCIS at 8pm......I know how to live :rotfl:

Do you think he will have enough energy left to pop over here and do a few chores... ;)

Well my mum has been and gone, I thought she was staying all weekend but no :S. Bit miffed really, especially as my Dad was on the phone at 6 wondering why she wasn't home yet - she didn't get here til 12  (she lives 150 miles away from me).

We went to the Tamar Otter Sanctuary in the end - thought it would be improved for the rain :). Been meaning to go for a while, and it was really good. Watched the otters being fed - they are so funny! So, it was fun, despite the weather.

Anyway, if you are all wondering where the sun is, it is sitting outside my house. Bloody hell - I had forgotton how yellow the car is - still, it is called The Great Yellow Car. Much nicer to drive than my old car - although I was very sad to see The Bubble go - she has got me through 4 years of driving and I treated her really badly and not had a single problem from her. As she is being part-ex'd for my Dads new car, I expect she will end up in the Falmouth auction. Might go and see her get sold. God, listen to me getting all sentimental about a car

Not sure what I am going to do for the rest of the day, probably just sit on here and drink tea

  • Afternoon all,

not had a chance to read through really yet - Taplady I too am enjoying Last Choir Standing. The first ones (bohemian rhapsody) gave me goosebumps, loved ACM Gospel too & Men Aloud a few seconds ago were brillant!!!! I really enjoyed theirs.

Did lamb steaks in red wine & recurrant jelly earlier & HM mash & DD ate it - she's barely touched anything all week, so I'm glad she's finally eaten something. Younger 2 DD's gone off to Bournemouth this morning until next Saturday, so will be a peaceful week here :)

Off to read the thread, but ((((((((((((hugs)))))))) to all those feeling sad, down, worrying about others or just in need...

    xx

those were the ones I liked best too! they are all so good its hard to pick just one isn't it.

  • Absolutely - I thought some of the judge's comments were a bit harsh for most of the choirs too though :( I'm torn between ACM & Men Aloud at the moment.... I wish I could sing (in tune), I'd love to join a choir.

Blairweech, how disappointing your mum came & went so quickly. at least you can distract yourself looking at the shiny yellow car.... :)
Sillyvixen, it's horrible feeling like that & not being able to do much about it. Stay around here, there's usually someone to "talk" to.
JackieO, you've probably gone by now but have a great holiday - you deserve it :)
Splodge, is your DS a bit better today?? HOpefully the antibiotics have kicked in. I always put toothpaste on bites (if I catch them quickly - not infected ones!) as it dries them up really quickly & stops the itching. Learned that when I lived in NIgeria for a couple of years as a teenager...
Scuzz, that's good news about the jobs coming in, fingers crossed the freelancing works out for you - even if it's a bit scary!!
Stef, at least your younger DD can't pretend she doesn't know how to do the washing once she's home again...!!! Expect you will feel more relieved once your other DD is back again too, knowing she's safe.
Redruby - hope your little nephews have a good sleepover & enjoy their supper. I would be cross at their mum too - I know everyone needs their own time/space, but when I go away I do make sure everyone else is sorted first... I couldn't go with a clear conscience otherwise. (PS now you know what I look like, lol!!)
Catznine & Silvercharming - are you both too famous to talk to now....?!?! Well done on DS's book & radio interview to both of you :)
