OS Daily Saturday 9th of August
Sunnyday
This is the Daily Thread for Saturday 9th of August 2008. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
Morning peeps
It`s still very dark outside so i can`t tell what the weather will be like yet, i do know that it`s dry at the moment as i`ve just let our monster cat in, she`s now prowling round tormenting the big mad puppy. I thought that she would be off to sleep especially with the size of the bowl of food that she`as just polished off but no.
I hope that we get some decent weather as i`ve just put the washing machine on and i`ve still got some washing that didn`t dry properly yesterday, the dw has just finished and the bm should be starting the baking part of the cycle soon so the lovely smell of fresh bread will fill the house.
No visitors today - at least not any planned ones
the black lab that my friend brought round yesterday was an absolute darling, a real lovely natured girlie, we found a rose hip bush but the hips were nowhere near ripe and the blackberries were either hard and green or gone:eek: hopefully i`ll be able to get my paws on some later, i`m seriously thinking of getting a couple of pots to shove in the front garden for growing blackberries in. We can`t grow in the soil as there is nasty privet but a big pot stood on top of the soil may be ok.
I dug up all my potatoes yesterday evening and also the radishes and spring onions so today i`m going to have a look through my seeds and see what else i can plant, i`m tempted by more spring onions and radish and maybe swede too. I left some of the tiny potatoes outside to see if they will sprout and i can replant them so fingers crossed.
Dh is working all day so i should have lots of time to get things done, i need to visit dad too and i shall see if he wants to go shopping today instead of tomorrow which will give me a bit of extra time when i need it.
Mioliere - hope the wedding went well and that you don`t have a self inflicted
sore head:D
SOMO1 - I did manage to get 5 minutes eventually yesterday - hopefully i`ll get 10
today
Silver Charming - ((((HUGS)))) for both of you.
I`ve rambled enough now so i`l pop off to do some browsing, have a lovely day everyone.

Morning folks.
13th day of rain
Yesterday was not too bad, but there were spots on the windscreen in the morning as I drove in to town, so that counts. Today it's buckets...
Crappy summer again!
Off to work this morning, so I shall just potter about till about 830.
One of my daughters is unwell and managed to throw up last night in the bedroom.... Got it pretty much on everything. Just as well I was a bit mellow after drinking a few glasses of wine as it did not feel so bad cleaning it up.
Well have a nice day...NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
So far it seems a lovely day out the back of the house. But just have to look out the front window and a nice big black cloud appears. Picked up my blueberry bushes yesterday. Just got to work out where to put them now. I think I know where they're going to go. OH though is moaning at me saying that I can't put them anywhere until he digs the boarders out. Asked him when...told 'don't know'. Trouble is I want these bedded in and growing asap to make sure they're well established in time for winter.
Today's jobs....avoid the washing. Just not in the mood today, and the rain might dampen things too. I am thinking about a chocolate cake I saw in a delia book. I have the ingredients, so now just have to wait for an appropriate time....ie, when toad isn't about.
Hugs to all who need them.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.

mioliere hope all went well for you yesterday, look forward to hearing all about it:D
Up early today, could`nt sleep, too hot and I had a tickle in my throat and could`nt stop coughing, drank gallons of water but no joy so I got up.
Just spent a nice quiet hour catching up on the last of Thursdays and yesterdays daily`s .
OOO the suns come out, and my kitchen is full of rainbows from my DGD`s crystals hanging in the window, ahhh thats cheered me up thinking about those two LO`s.:D
Well just the usual for us today, visit the both mum`s do what needs doing there and a bit of shopping for them, it would be so much easier if they both lived close, my mum does but MIL lives about 40 mins away, I am not complaining, we are lucky to still have them both
Then I want to go and have a look in Homebase for some new garden furniture, somebody told me they have offers on so its worth a look, depends how much really, I have managed to squirrel a bit away, should just do the table and chairs for the patio, its taken ages to save it, something else always seems to come up, but thats the way of things:rolleyes:
Well time for another :coffee:

Morning all!
I bet you're surprised to see me this early! I've been up since 6 watching the first day of the Olympics
I'm a bit disappointed today, because it was my mum's birthday yesterday. She decided to visit my sister over the weekend. So, the cake I sent will be at the post office until Monday, and I've absolutely no idea what happened to the flowers I ordered.
I hope you all have a lovely day watching sport and not doing any housework!
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Morning all,
I've put the 2nd load in the WM, 1st load got dried on the line y/day I'm determined to use the TD for towels only as they are so soft when dried that way.
Phoned the hosp last night and Mum was discharged at 4pm. She is much better.
Phoned DB2 on Tuesday, Drs said they are going to use laser treatment on 15 of the Melanoma moles that have grown bigger, he has over 3 dozen. He starts treatment in about 6 weeks.
DB1 had his blood count results, no increase, woopee.
Must shop for F & V, pay some bills, iron, plan dinner and make some soup.
(((((((( Hugs )))))))))))) to all in need.
Mioliere, can't wait to hear all about your special day. x0 -
Good morning everyone
betheebee glad you are finally getting some good news re your DBs. Also glad to hear your mum has been discharged (but I must have missed your post saying she was in hospital. sorry.
)
mr BE what a pity your DMum will not have the joy of experiencing your baking while its fresh.
Pippa S Hope you don't have the tickly cough that taplady and I have both had for the last few weeks. I'm into my third week and it is only now that I feel its beginning to clear.
rchddap I'm so jealous of your blueberry bushes. I love blueberries.
studentgirl Please get yourself to the clinic for your earache. You will feel better sooner if you do.
Hope it stays dry for all you peeps who want to get washing done and hung out.
Got the chest of drawers upstairs without any problems and they really look fabulous in my room (my room is cream and lavender and the chest is cream too.) Just got to fill the drawers now.
Slept well last night which is probably why I was awake at 6. Heading off to the gym shortly then I need to make a couple of birthday cards to get them posted this week. Other than that and doing something with some diced chicken breast, I have no definite plans for today. I'm hoping that some of the books I ordered come today though so that I can get a head start on the OU course I have signed up for.
Have a sunny Saturday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

It might not be too bad, because it will improve over a couple of days in foil. Trouble is, I made it on Wednesday night, and she won't see it until Monday. I'm sure it'll be ok though. The card I handed over the P.O. counter at the same time, made it.

:hello: Good Morning!
Looking in to see if Kathy has popped in to tell us how the wedding went! Hope you are not too tired and got to enjoy it all!
We have calmed down a bit here from all the excitement at last. I also restrained myself and just bought 1 copy of ds's book in Waterstones! I have 3 more (for pressies) on order from play.com at a much more mse price but they haven't turned up yet. Ds is off to Singapore today so it will be a while longer before we get to see him and catch up.
Dd has said she might be down to stay overnight and come with us to my friends combined 50th birthday/30th wedding anniversary party tomorrow, friend was too poorly to celebrate earlier so we must make up for that as best we can.
Hope you all have a lovely Saturday!
