(As well as sharing your concern/upset for the way Kwik Fit staff acted)
Like others have said - Check to see if they really are giving you a 'Discount'.
Just a suggestion: When you need somthing done, email or write specifically to the guy who responded to your complaint and ask him to give you the "discounted" price for the works you need done.
(But beforehand make sure you know what competitiors would charge for the same work ....) .... you get the rest .... then you can either :-
- (if the discount is good) say "thank you - book me in - and have the coffee and choclates ready for me while I wait"
- (if the discount is low) say - armed with your other quotes - "are you kidding me .... garage X aill do it for £10, and after the way I've been treated this is pretty poor - are you really sure thats the best you can do?"
- (if there is no discount) say "did you know Watchdog has changed their number receiently - I have it to hand, they'll be my next call" !!
Let us know what your planning ! - and best of luck (we all want to see Kwik Fit appologise and pay).
Good Luck

The regional manager had looked into our past business with them and seen that my family have actually used them 19 times in total !! and he said the next time we go, to call him and he will make sure we are treated like royalty and he will make sure we are given a hefty discount too.
He apologised and apologised and apologised somemore and said that he was discusted with the mechanics and will be having words, but will keep my name out of it.
They might as well put your picture up so they all know who you are when you walk in.
Now i'm going to get grief for this but some people are being a bit harsh on the mechanics. If i remember correctly you said that they shut the doors and then a delivery man went back through and left the door open. They might not have been aware that the door was left open and people could hear what was being said, even though they shut it so they could talk.
Not an excuse for it happening but may have been unaware somebody (who was born in a barn) had left it open.0 -
i use a local mechanic who actually came out to my house to do some car work and only charged me a fiver !!! ok a lead had come off in the engine and car wouldn't start but he only charged me a fiver. been to his garage for a cambelt change and he is brilliant! tells me what needs doing and why and how much up front and shows me the old bits before and after
sorry to hear of your experience with Kwik fit.....i wouldn't use them now any way, i have heard too many horror stories62;)0 -
Had another call yesterday from Regional manager, saying that I had infact been overcharged, as the local kwik fit were note aware that there was a promotion on.
He kindly offered me 2 back tyres for free.
I asked if I`d get lynched when I went there and he said `no that won`t happen`.
So all in all, they really are commited to customer satisfaction. Apologies, flowers, dicounts and now free tyres.Debt Free Jan 2010!(Be happy) the state of your life is nothing more than the state of your mind! X:j0 -
Hello liz_uk
I'm pleased that you are happy with their response. I'm sure that the e-mail sent by Martin will have helped.;)
Let's hope that Kwik-Fit staff hold their personal sexual discussions in private and keep it in their mess/staff room in future.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. liz_uk wrote:Went to get some new tyres this morning from Kwik Fit.
Only needed the front two doing, which they did. I got charged £64.00 for 2 tyres. On enquiring about the cost of 4 tyres I was told £132. On the internet, on price checking.. it stated £98 for 4 for the same tyres and fitting and allignment.
I think, being a woman I was properly ripped off.
Was this the worst bit of my experience with Kwik fit. NO.
On waiting in the waiting area with two business men. The Kwik fit mechanic shut all the doors, then a pirelli delivery man came and got an invoice off the desk leaving one of the doors open behind him.
You could hear the mechanics talking. One in great explicit detail was explaining about his latest `fu*k` and how on giving her oral sex, described what it smelt like ......... etc, etc........ You get the gist ! This went on for about 5 minutes.
The two business men, both looked straight ahead and didn`t dare look at me, and having my 3 year old daughter on my knee, covered her ears.
I am appalled by this, and being charged more than expected.
There were 4 mechanics including the manager, hanging around the desk when it was time to pay and I felt intimidated and just wanted to get out.
The manager was involved in the sex conversation, so i`m not ringing them to complain. should I got ot head office, or just forget about it??
The overcharge is wrong and glad to hear it's sorted. I'm not condoning the conversation you heard in anyway but I'm curious, if the conversation was that bad why didn't you just close the door?0 -

Good point, I could have done that, but I guess it was the shock of it, I just didn`t think to do that !!
I`m one to have around after an incident has occured !! LoLDebt Free Jan 2010!(Be happy) the state of your life is nothing more than the state of your mind! X:j0
