    What can Orange gain in allowing their customers to be transferred to a third party?

    Orange still get the line rental dont they and the original one paid off, these indian call centres seem to get hold of peoples contract details easily.

    But apart from the line rental, what else is there ?

    My tariff is £25.00 for 500 mins anytime cross network.

    The third party offered free texts and 10% discount on the £25.00.

    I can only assume they earned commission on the extended contract, to keep me tied in.

    Anyway, gotta feeling the someone within the third party has been chancing it with customers on direct debits.

    Hi Matty,

    This sounds like the deal Mobile shop is offering using T.Mobile. I have heard reports of bad coverage with T.Mobile. I don't know what part of the UK you are in but what coverage do you get?

    Many people have filled their cars with fuel that may be contaminated and will be presented with large bills to rectify the problem.

    I thought it might be useful to outline the action that you should take if you are affected.

    1. Keep the receipt for the petrol that you feel may be contaminated.

    2. Get a receipt for any cost of repairs to rectify the problem.

    3. Ask the repair garage to let you have any damaged parts that they replace for you.

    4. Inform the place where you bought your fuel of the problem and ask them if they have any procedure in place to deal with the situation.

    5. Keep a record of all additional expenses incurred such as car hire, taxis, loss of earnings etc. These expenses may be retrievable.

    A report is due out later today and at this time it will be clearer where the problem lies and who is responsible for the costs incurred. Wait to see the outcome of this report.

    Remember that your contract, in the event of the fuel being contaminated, is with the retailer where you purchased your fuel.

    6 months ago I purchased a steam iron (separate water tank) from LIDL for £49.98. Last week one of the switches on it started playing up - the light would flicker and the iron would only work intermittently. Great - it has a 3 year warranty. When I took it back to a LIDL I was told that up to 28 days I could have had a refund, but now I had to contact the manufacturer. I thought that the seller was responsible under the SOG act but the manager utterly refuted this? I can call the manufacturer who will, I am sure, repair/replace it but it's LIDL that are responsible surely?

    Yes, it is the retailer who is responsible and not the manufacturer. Who provided the warranty?

    Hi

    I bought a Bose sound dock from USA in Sept. 2006. It has broken - there is no sound.

    I phoned Bose yesterday and they are refusing to fix it because i did not declare it at customs. I did not know that i had to declare it and i thought i was allowed to bring in products up to a certain limit into the country.

    Any advice would be welcome.

    hi
    i bought tv from currys in november . it is having intermittent problems , they said i have to have it taken away for diagnosis and then it will be repaired.
    i am right to reject potential repair and request new item.
    ANY HELP?
