You've been given some good advice. Give them one more chance and then demand a replacement or refund. If they don't agree then go straight to the Small Claims Court where you can then include the £25 fee they charged you.

    Dear Art,

Thank you for helping and supporting me through this dispute! I have learned a lot from this thread and feels more confident as to which rights I have as a consumer and which Act to quote.

    Thanks again!

Im not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but Tesco and Barclaycard have added incorrect information on my credit file.

Who do I need to write to in order to get the information removed. I have tried calling both their customer services but they were useless

Contact the credit agency holding the incorrect information. You will need to explain the situation and if they agree with you they will amend the file.

It's also an idea to contact the other main agencies as well just in case they have similar information. The 2 main ones are Experian and Equifax.

I think there may be something on this site about this matter and how to go about sorting problems out. See what you can find.

    Regards,

In reference to the washing machine lady, i work for another manufacturer. and whilst your contract of sale is with the retailer, it may be worth speaking to the manufacturer to see if they are willing to offer any assistance and providing you have used their authorised agents they be able to help

What rights do I have with dry cleaning?

I took my husband's waistcoat to Morrisons dry cleaners. My husband bought it from Debenhams a year ago and it had only been worn once at our wedding and was to be cleaned for the first time. When I got it back, the front surface was all crinkly and hard. They took it back and said their area manager who has dry cleaning knowledge would look at it. Then I got a call from them saying that it was a manufacturer's fault and they would send me a letter. I got the letter but it never mentioned any specific fault. It basically said they cleaned it according to all guidelines and instructions so it's not their fault.

So they have no proof that it is a manufacturing problem. All they are saying is that it's not their fault so it must be the manufacturer's.

It's not that expensive, £30 - £40, but it is of great sentimental value to us. There's nothing they could do to reverse the damage but it seems to me they're just shifting the blame.

Should I contact Debenhams, or Morrisons headquarters?

Complain to Morrisons HQ and explain that your complaint to the store manager was dealt with inadequatly and you feel as a regular and reliable customer of Morrisons, that you should have been given a bit more respect. Explain about the jacket but make it sound like you're not trying to screw themm you just want some recognistion for the eventl This will relax them a little and they will be willing to be more compassionate with you.

    GOOD BIT:

Once this happens, you should have "won" the HQ person over so try to get what you can that makes you feel compensated - ie vouchers, etc if you cannot get a new jkt (I know u said it was nmore sentimental) so go for getting some vouchers from them or free dry ckeaning tokens to the value of your original bill.

Theres not much else you can get or ask for really, a letter of apology? I mean whats the point, it wont fix the jkt and you're still out of pocket, go for tangible rewards and get a weeks worth of free shopping.

What are you looking for? I find it difficult to understand how a waistcoat has sentimental value but assuming it does then a replacement would certainly not carry the same emotion.

If you want to pursue this you will need to get a statement from the cleaners stating how they cleaned it and then take this to Debenhams.

i hope someone can help me out...i have a sony ps3 which stopped working last week, this is the 2nd one i have had and they both failed with the same problem and lasted about a year each.
as its out of warranty, sony are charging for a repair. so i contacted game with reference to the sale of goods act and they offered me a partial refund.
my question is do i have to return the ps3 if i accept the partial refund?
the console is dead, so game would have to get it repaired from sony if they were to sell it as pre owned.

It sounds as if Game are making you a refund less an allowance for the 2 years use you have had. Technically they could ask for the unit to be returned.

If I were you I would check with them the details of their offer.
