  • Stuck in boring meetings today - why do people take 15 mins to say something that I can sum up in 2 sentences? I decided that I deserved a treat for not yelling at anyone - the cafe next door has HM toffee muffins and i now have their recipe. :)
Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!

Not a very OS day today as it's my birthday - had a whole day at work - more applications to process but people were quite chatty. Been on the phone to people and now we're off out for a meal in a minute - will get back on the OS track tomorrow - I promise ;)

However, I was talking to someone the other night about meal planning and she thought that it was revolutionary! She couldn't believe what a good idea it was. And she couldn't work out why she spent so much when she was out shopping - but she never took a shopping list with her. She's got 3 grown up children and I was just amazed! She was amazed at me too....... There's nowt as queer as folk.

Well that made me laugh! Had a conversation with a woman at work the other day who also has 3 grown kids. She uses her tumble drier all the time, even in summer when it's sunny - just in case it rains... Never irons if she can help it...bungs things in the tumble drier and the creases drop out. So I asked her how much her electricity bill is. She said she has a card and only spends about a tenner a week (I nearly fell off my chair), but it used to be about £20 a week when all the kids were at home (moi was gob smacked and speechless). Told her my last two bills were £38.xx per quarter and that was with the meter being read each time - but I don't think she believed me. Asked her if the card system was cheaper or more expensive than the normal meter reading method...she doesn't know. Think she must have one of those money trees in her garden... Imagine how much money we could save her...

The sofa ROCKS!! It looks awesome!! I went fabric shopping on lunch today to find cushion material but couldnt decide on a colour till id seen it in situ. Ive now decided black - the sofa is red, the carpet is fluffy sheep cream, and black accessories everywhere - so Im buying some tomorrow.

My mp3 player has also mysteriously turned up today - 22 days after next sent it, but im happy - it means I didnt go out and spend more money at ikea as I have plenty of toys to play with now!!

Anyway - im going to go lounge on my sofa and feel like a grown up!! Hope you all had a lovely day, and happy birthday to yorkielass!

  • I've just been for a drive in my new car :j

Passed my test on Saturday and got my car today. I love it :j
I'm a bit scared still, but it's fab to know I can drive wherever I want without relying on my boyf to take me.

I still need to remember a few things like - turn on the lights, turn off the lights, lock the doors, take my handbag out of the car with me! But other that that it's really good.

Not a very O/S day today what with buying my car, but I'm in the middle of taking loads of photo's for Ebay so I can make the most of the 5p listing day tomorrow.

Jo - glad you got your new sofa, I know how exciting it is when you start buying things for your house :)
