    Good evening all

Had a lovely weekend away in Wiltshire at MIL's. DH took Friday off and we popped off and did the weeks shop before we headed up the motorway. Got to MIL's place of work and sent DD's in to surprise her...she was thrilled and managed to get off work early! Nice to have dinner made for me and not allowed to enter the kitchen while I'm there, MIL tells me it's her way of saying thanks for taking DH off her hands ;) Went to see some fireworks (free) on Friday night - one of the best display's i've ever seen. Off shopping to Cribbs Cause on Saturday, then treated to lunch at TGI Fridays and Cinema in the afternoon (I like being treated). Back to MIL's for cheese and biccies and X Factor - kids were bathed and hairwashed for me and I was allowed to sit in peace.

Home via a Freecycle member this afternoon, picked up a fantastic desk and chair for DD2, she's made up with it - (looks like new). DH has obviously been "talked" too by MIL as he unloaded the car, put some washing going, run me a bath, made me a drink and even came and washed my hair for me........I did hint at putting the BM on and getting some soup made up in the SC for lunches this week but hey - don't want to push it.

Off on a course tomorrow - will be extremely dull and a complete waste of a day. Off shopping at lakeside on Tuesday with a friend for her birthday which won't be such a complete waste of a day!! :T

Hope you've all had a wonderful weekend.

    Hi All,

Have had a really good day driving, and my dad didnt need his crash helmet after all! (other half had a hard helmet in the back of the car from work - just in case.) Went to my friends house for the first time and helped her to feed her chickens and ducks. All I need to do now is invest in a pair of wellies for when I next go there! (very muddy).

Have had sausages, mash and swede for tea, followed by choc steamed pudding and custard. Should keep my DS and DH at bay for a while. I'm now having a rest after a manic afternoon in the kitchen.

    Have a good evening

    Powie xx

Having just managed to get back into making bread and got my confidence back - I have now produced my second rubbish yorkie!

Can only assume it was because I was in a rush and the oven did not get hot enough.

DH is sulking quietly because he loves yorkshire pud!

It is not as if I did it on purpose!

About to go and iron stuff for DDs for tomorrow but wanted to pop on here first.

Have chicken curry in slow cooker overnight to help DH's cold and cough.

It might just cheer up my very own Victor Meldrew!

    Hello everyone :hello:

What a busy weekend ... I've only just managed to log onto the net now and it's evening.

Yesterday I made three shepherds pies for the freezer and with the left over mash made tuna fish cakes roughly based round curry queens recipe. We had them for tea with salad, peas and a salsa (first time I've used a fresh chillie and my goodness it was hot) ... absolutely yummy. Would never have made my own fish cakes but for all your good advice on OS.

Today we had the pheasant we were given in the week. Took OH an hour and a half to prepare (the book said 15 minutes!). We roasted it - a sausage, sage and onion stuffing with a bacon baste. Served it with purple sprouting broccili (farmers market) and roast potatoes (tesco's value). It was absolutely delicious.

I spent an hour this afternoon sorting out the paperwork ... it was a growing pile that could no longer be ignored. And the yogurt maker went on at lunch time so that will be ready shortly.
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

OK completely failed to post on here this morning - postie turned up at 9.30am - completely confused me too - being a Sunday  but was my craft order so spent the morning in bed perfecting wedding invitation - just need to get all the bits together now and start making :) - will keep me busy.

OH cooked Roast Lamb tonight which was lovely - our first roast in our little kitchen - but 2 oven shelves made a big difference ;)

Another load of washing done so we're starting to get on top of it now - can't believe 2 people seem to make this much washing - perhaps we just like to be clean ;)

Went into York and got a few bits this afternoon - including took the tights I got for my birthday back to Marks - looked like the right size - well a size bigger according to the back but wore one pair on my birthday and they ripped and they were cotton expensive ones - so I took them both back and exchanged them for the biggest size - really shouldn't need them that big but hopefully they'll be ok - wouldn't normally bother - money saving is me now though :)

Working all this week again I hope - it's good but means I'll have to try hard with OS this week - I will make sure I can work and live OS too.

Only just realised aint posted today.

Mainly lazed here on the computer on here and cleaned the house top to bottom (cos it looked like a war-zone!)

Feeling a bit down cos been having a rubbish week especially with supposed OH - we broke up about 3 weeks ago then got back together last thursday because he "realised what an idiot hed been and loved me so much and couldnt live without me" managed about 4 days of happy couple (although he was away camping for 3 days of that! ) then we had a fight over him not making time to see me by doing loads unneccassary overtime. Told me money and nice things were important than me or his family  and now after ignoring me for days hes just told me when i rang him angry.... that he "thought i would have got the point..." when i asked was it over.  Im not upset cos hes turned into someone really nasty lately (even his friends think so)... im just annoyed at myself for putting up with it for so long and making an idiot of myself :o:(:(

BUT all is not lost... just going to cook some tea... (got distracted with housework and Robson Green on bbc1! ) Might make a homemade pizza  or something else with leftovers in the fridge.

And in an hour or so my best-mate/childhood sweetheart is coming round... which was planned anyway.... :) He got dumped too this week by some witch (who wasnt good enough for him anyway ;)) So I think we'll have a good night infront of a dvd eating pizza and having a good moan about our exes and how we should really just run off and get married to each other :D :rotfl:

:grouphug: johanne, kiwichick, Penny-Pincher & all.

I've had one heck of an exhausting, not to mention expensive, frustrating and WET day, hence being too busy to post until after 11pm.

Had church (& choir) this morning in Marble Arch, then a concert rehearsal in Kensington, which was postponed from 2pm to 3. I window-shopped on Oxford Street for a while (the liqueurs in Selfridges are one of my expensive vices I try only to indulge on an occasional basis :o ) then, for some reason best known to myself, decided it was a good idea to WALK to my rehearsal despite the fact that I was wearing fabric trainers and the rain was not so much coming DOWN hard as going STRAIGHT ACROSS hard.

Arrived at the church where we practice, and the rehearsal was terrible - last week we had at least one strong, confident voice on each section but most of those people weren't there this week. Anyway, finished rehearsal at 6 and had a ticket for a concert in Covent Garden at 7. Went to the bus stop to wait for the number 9 which is supposed to come every 6-12 mins...

    ...and waited...

    ...and waited...

    ...and waited...

...until eventually it got to the point where it was 6:30 and the only way I was going to reach the concert on time was to get a cab (my taxi usage totals about 5-6 times per annum, and always in this type of situation!). So, £10 down the drain later, I arrived at the theatre...

...AND THE CONCERT STARTED 15 MINUTES LATE    so there's every chance the bus would have turned up and got me there on time    and it would have been "free" (as my travelcard is already paid for)

I just seem to have been HAEMORRHAGING MONEY this week!

Concert was OK, not fabulously memorable, and I was so tired from the rest of the day that I didn't have my mind on the music, and was instead thinking of

    (1) what a nice risotto I can make tomorrow with the chicken and bacon pieces I've got in the fridge

    (2) how nice and organised the freezer looks since yesterday's cooking marathon

    and

    (3) how I really ought to go into work quite early in the morning as there's an urgent letter which needs to be sent out.

Still, at least I resisted the temptation of an interval ice cream at £3 a tub

Am now back at home, basking in the warm glow of the glass of brandy in my hand :D

You know u have really gotta give up when even your only proper true friend who has always there for you no-matter over the last 9 years.. would die for you..... even HE has let me down tonight... so ive sat here till now (when hes just text) and eaten the whole pizza alone waiting for him and gearing myself up for a lovely night of catching up and relaxing which we havent done for months due to work and jealous OHs. :(:(

Now im in a quandry.. i should really take my anti-depressant tablet.. but they knock me out 12+ hours AND they give me horrific nightmares at the best of times.. but if i go to bed on an "upset" then they are a million times worse - and cos im in such a deep sleep i cant wake myself up from them! So im tempted to skip it tonight! I dont think i need them anyway.. i just need all the people and situations in my life to stop being so damn poop to me...

Oooooooooh forget it! Think i'll sit up aslong as i can and "chill out" maybe card making or sorting out my household paperwork (currently in a now ripped cardboard box mixed in with allsort of rubbish/reciepts and bits of paper! which always ends up all over the floor of the dining room when i kick it by accident :rotfl: ) then have a cat nap tomorrow afternoon when ive done what ive got to like go fruit shopping!!! Then can have an early night tomorrow and catch up on my sleep. :)
