Had a great time at sisters, but have caught a rotten cold and have the monthly from hell  My throat is killing me and is covered in white spots, temperature so will need to see gp tomorrow because i dont have an immune system with my lupus etc and the meds im on :o

Today we have about 3 washloads to do, quick zip around the house and putting away bits bought back with us etc. OH has bought a quilt down and has told me to stay on sofa today-im so fed up with feeling ill

OH has got a chicken out freezer for a roast. We will be having roast chicken, roasties, mash, stuffing, HM yorkies, sprouts, cabbage, carrots, parsnips and gravy :D will do an extra plate for my lunch tomorrow

Have SIL coming tomorrow and need to work out what she going to do. She is here for 4hrs-so i was thinking of a few kitchen inside cupboards, our bedroom window frames with bleach, the wooden blinds downstairs and the ironing ;)

DD has her 11+ this week and are going through a few practice sheets over the next couple of days-so fingers crossed everyone. There is only 1 comprhensive school that i would consider sending her too-if she doesnt pass and doesnt get into this particular comprehensive school we are seriously considering home teaching  Its an awful time for her and she desperatly wants to do well as she wants to be a zooologist :p and knows the school she wants to go too. We have just said that were proud of whatever she does!

    Have a great day

    Morning,

Queenie - my drive yesterday was pretty good, Think I could do with getting some P Plates though. Husband suggested getting bull bars for the car, but I dont think my dad will need his crash helmet after all!:D

I was craving apple crumble last night, so I made a batch up OS fashion, which was quite enjoyable, whilst i was being sad and watching X factor. I am looking forward to my DH cooking the dinner today, whislt I have a rest from doing the housework etc.

Hope you all have a good Sunday

    LOL

Morning all ((hugs)) to all that need them:grouphug:

Up relatively late for me (around 6am!!) My 1st ever attempt at using my SC is now cooking - kinda beef casserole type thing (hopefully!) May well have to check yesterday's thread re: how to thicken up, as needed to put a fair amount of liquid in to cover veg etc!!

'Dishy' is on & so is 1st load of washing. Its absolutely awful here today, so think I'll have to dry it around the house.

DS1 has just gone to his swimming lesson with DH.

This morning I want to try & do all the housework. This afternoon will go and see my parents and (hopefully) my sis, niece and nephew!!

Busy day ahead, but am going to spend an hour or so on here, then when DH gets back will get showered & crack on with the cleaning!:(

Hope everyone has a good day & that all who feel awful currently, begin to feel better!!!

    Morning all,

Fireworks were lovely last night, we went to the pub with friends after too. Then walked home to save bus fares.

Today we are going to Chippenham, Wilts to stay in a Travellodge- we booked the £10 rooms to stay for 2 nights, so will be nice to have a change of scene and maybe get a bit more Xmas shopping done. The lovely people on the Vouchers board kindly gave me a few links to which restaurant chains have current vouchers for money off, so I have printed a couple off and should make some savings. :T

We will probably leave to start driving in a couple of hours, so OH is ironing a couple of work shirts so he will be ready for Wednesday, I have to wash a few dishes and fold up the dry laundry on the airer downstairs, but not too much needs doing other than that.

Have a good day all, Sarah.
Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)
  • Morning all,

Had a mad weekend, missed you all yesterday but we stayed at MILs to help use up the stuff from Fridays party. We had a great time even though it was so rainy. :p

Having an OS day today, already done lots of washing, cleaned the kitchen and got BM on. Dinner - Beef Stroganoff is in the SC. I'm just off to find the Banana Muffins recipe because I've got some black ones to use up.

Back later, (((hugs))) to all who need them

  • Hi All,
Got up early for me, 8.30, had a shower straight away and am now fed, DD's are fed and watching Tracy Beaker in their PJ's, and OH is still snoring.
I'm going to crack on with the ebay stuff today. DD's have had a look through their dressing up clothes and came downstairs with a fairy costume, a mermaid costume, a sailor girl costume and a witch costume for me to put on too. I could well be sat here by the computer all day at this rate.

Tea tonight is braising steak done with onions in the slow cooker, with roasters, carrots, swede and roast pumpkin, and yorkies too. Have to take DD to a musical rehearsal for her ballet exam later on this afternoon. As it is pouring with rain I may be able to persuade OH to take her as his plans for the day were all outside ones if it was dry.

Decided to bunk off church today, DD;s were disappointed because they love going to junior church. I always feel really guilty if I dont go, but I absolutely MUST tackle this ebay pile. Have decided Im going to leave any money I make (except the kids stuff) in my paypal account. Im going to finally get round to starting my diet and then when Ive lost some weight the paypal account is going to be used to get me some new stuff :shhh: .
Tonight I have a big pile of sewing - brownie trousers to turn up, DD2 got her 25 and 50 metres swimming badges yesterday, so need to sew those on her towel for her.
Had frozen ready meal for tea night from Sainsburys. Neither OH or I enjoyed them, we havent had them for ages, we are home cooking converted now :T .
DD's just had sparklers in the garden, a hotel just round the corner from us had some fantastic fireworks that we watched through the french windows from gthe comfort of the settee. Next Friday we are going to the school fireworks display which is usually fantastic.
Kiwi-chick, I hope your throat gets better soon, it sounds awful! _pale_
Penny Pincher, I hope your bad throat gets better soon too, take care of yourself.
Curry Queen, I hope you feel better soon too, hope to see you posting again soon and Im sending lots of positive vibes and good wishes your way in the meantime. :A

    Right, ebay here I come.

You go into the garden/pavement and play splishy-splashy puddles for 10 secs instead :D

You could play chase the raindrops down the windows (from inside)

If desperate, tell d2yo that the park is being watered so it's lush for nice weather days ;)

PP - so sorry read that you are poorly! (Might be worth calling out the on-call Dr. rather than wait until tomorrow ... whatever it is that has flared up in your throat and tongue really should be seen so that if it is an infection you can get meds straight away ... not worth the risk of leaving it :(:( ) Take care!!

powie - :T Glad the drive went well :T (I love your dad and oh's humour ;):D )

saraht - have a great time away. You've managed to get a good deal :T

Chicken all prepared for the oven and giblets are making the stock for gravy ;) Decided to put some braised cabbage and apple in the oven at the same time and a fruit cake to utilise the whole oven.
It's a really glum day weatherwise now - it was a really clear morning earlier! So, as we haven't (yet) given in and put the heating on, the oven will keep the house nice and snug (double duty LOL )

When I go shopping in Chippenham later I will keep my beady eyes on all the shoppers to see if I can guess which one is you :rotfl:

If you see a short blond woman walking in to a lamp post then that is me :D

Hope you have a good time. And you are not far from Bath not to bad for shopping or bit further down the motorway cribbs causeway and the mall. But it will be heaving today. Best to get there before 10am when they open as you can look around the other shops first like the giant Asda/Walmart store.

    Yours

    Morning :)

Well, I can see (yet again) why we have no time left to do OS like our grandparents - because we spend too bl00dy long trying to sort out modern things. I have just spent 1 1/2 hours trying to get the flippin' PC to connect to the internet  ONE AND A HALF HOURS!! God, I hate AOL at times, but Mr TM has the account in his name, so it stays.

Anyway, so much for doing lots of jobs this morning. Ths house looks like the boys have just chucked their toy boxes down the stairs and I seem to have had an outburst or rampant paper stacks, growing all over the house :D I'm going to take an empty laundry basket around the house and collect all my paperwork then I can sort it at my leisure tonight.

Sorted my charity Xmas showboxes last night. DS1 wanted to put in some of his toy cars, but I kept telling him that teenage girls probably wouldn't appreciate them as much, but he was very kind for offering :)

Went for a walk last night to watch some fireworks, but it rained. Still raining on and off today, so no washing out. DS1 has gone with Mr TM clay pigeon shooting today, so I expect a drowned rat home about 3 :D DS2 is still running round in his pj's, but yesterday he insisted on not wearing a top at all, so he obviously doesn't feel the cold :)

OK, off to check my ebay stuff. Some's finishing tonight so I hope it goes. Must get some lamb chops out for tea before I forget too.

    Have a good day all.
