Why exactly are you on here then? You are meant to contribute ideas and help about money saving. And if someone is having a hard time you are mean to encourage and support them. Isn't that what community is about? I doubt very much that rude ignorant people are part of the Dooyoo community anymore than they are part of the MSE one.
It's not funny at all. The two communities are completely different with only a subset of members belonging to both. One community is, by and large (and according to my experience) helpful, if a little judgemental and the other is full of people who have no qualms about talking about people behind their backs or exploiting loopholes and sucking every single penny from a site with an established community without giving anything back.
As I've repeatedly stated, if someone has a negative view of this site due to the contents of the previous thread or this one, then it's not me you blame. Blame the people setting up cartels or churning reviews on the site or coming back to MSE from Dooyoo to whine about a specific person. All I've done is point out that the behaviour of some MSE members is lacking and that some behaviour (churning as an example) is frowned upon by dooyoo members. Based on my experience of the two dooyoo threads, MSE members SHOULD be criticised because the behaviour of some members on the threads has been poor.
Do MSE members want MSE Dooyoo threads to be used to slag off other Dooyoo members without right of reply? I don't think so and yet no-one else has seen this as an issue. That concerns me. Had I not mentioned it, then how long before someone else comes along to slag off another member or guide? That people have subsequently taken issue with me says a lot about the MSE community in my opinion. If you're part of these threads and you're not speaking up when someone is out of line, then you're part of the problem. I spoke up.

I can tell you that many of the reviews I have read several times over ... while waiting for either those video adverts or javascripts to load before the 'Rate' buttons light up!
Sometimes I have to 'Refresh' the page for them to work, or go out of them altogether and click back on the review. And a few of them never work and I sadly haven't been able to rate those reviews at all, (though I guess at least they get the points for the read)
It's not my pc as it happens both at home and at work.
Does anyone else experience difficulties with non-functioning 'Rate' buttons?
Aye dooyoo are aware of the javascript error and are fixing it as we speak. It is a result of the adverts you speak of and they are sorting a workaroundu. Don't forget people if you have any problems with the site to Guides are able to report these directly to dooyoo staff and get a much quicker response. I don't get that problem in firefox though so I presume you be using the hugely inferior IE 6 or 7?0 -

It's a scripting issue with the site code, I think. I saw an improvement today. If you're still seeing the issue, load dooyoo and hit <Ctrl> and F5 at the same time. That fetches completely new code from dooyoo.0 -

Yes, is that the community rating overall then? Like the both added together?Dooyoo fund: £14.26

Nah, there is no such thing as a "community rating" really. It is just a mythical piece of dooyoo terminology.0

Some people even post absences in their profiles and chances are, if they're garnering large numbers of reads during a period of absence, they'll have put in the work beforehand. Writers who do little reading around the site will not rake in huge numbers of reads during a period of absence unless they were fortunate enough to write on an extremely popular topic.
That is true. DVDS, baby goods, and appliances all will continue to garner reads for example. I know I took quite some time off awhiles ago, and I got a large amount of reads. Sadly, as I was offsite, those points also expired before I got to use them LOLbudget meals can be good meals0 -
Do they have to be used up in a certain amount of time then?Dooyoo fund: £14.26

Hi all.
Blimey the *sparkly new thread* has got heated fairly quickly, hasn't it! Haven't seen such controversy since the last Pigsback thread!
On a serious note - can everybody just bear in mind the overriding rule of this site:Pls be nice to all MoneySavers. There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.
It's not pleasant to read that other posters feel so upset that they want to leave MSE.
As for DooYoo, most posters on here want to make the most of the site, without alienating themselves from other site users on there. Perhaps some of the points made by established users from DooYoo (eg: around number of reviews posted and the need to read/rate other people's reviews) would be worth bearing in mind.
Also worth remembering that the last thread was closed to *put an end* to arguing and unpleasantness about something that's supposed to be a fun way to earn a bit of extra cash!0
