Interestingly, DooYoo did tell us that often people who post a comment to say a review is nominated, never actually do the nominating. It's a throw away comment to make you want to read them, and perhaps nom them in turn. So don't feel slighted if you write a review, get thre remarks that all say NOMINATED! and think it is great, but no crown comes your way.

Fair point. I've no idea but I guess people would do that. But also you might be nominated 20 times for one post but the Dooyoo team does not deem the post worthy of a crown so you don't get one anyway. I always (unless I forget to leave a comment) mention when I have nominated because I know on the odd occasion when someone nominates me and drops me an email to say so, I feel really pleased with myself. I want people to feel a bit of happiness about their review even if they don't ultimately get a crown.
• until you start taking the mick out of them such as posting 114 reviews in a week and only giving back two thirds of the rates you're given (600 versus 843).

Interesting abuse of my Dooyoo profile. Fancy giving us your details so we can all judge you by the same standards? No? I didn't think so. Although I don't know why I am wasting my time justifying anything to you, I didn't rate anyone initially because I didn't know how or realise that as a lowly member I could. I assumed it was for guides. In the past few days I have always been 200 ratings down, because of the initial slow start. So I guess in layman's terms that means I am rating as many as I am receiving. But what would I know?!! I clearly write too many reviews to actually know anything at all!!!

I have emailed a few 'nice' guides today and looked at their profiles and some of them have posted 1000 ratings but received 2000 in return. SHOCKING BEHAVIOUR! Should they be kicked off the site? Or should we actually just let them get on with it and not get our knickers in a twist about what other people are doing. Unless someone is rude to you on Dooyoo or rates unfairly or comments in an unhelpful way, just let them get on with it!

Well if it was my decision then I would make it a requirement that Guides had rated more than they received but that is a different story. Speaking of "nice" guides and members be careful that nice is not just what you want to hear. The best Guides for me are not the super nice ones but the honest ones (although there is room for a bit of both).

Completely agree. The nicest guide I have come across is well harsh with his ratings of my reviews. No taste in my opinion! ;) But that doesn't stop him being nice and helpful.

Guides should always rate more than they receive. That's my opinion, though I do not appoint guides. That should be one of the base rules of being considered for a guide's position, not something to attain afterwards.

And when money comes in to play, people are always going to pay attention to what other people are doing. People WILL make assumptions on you based on your stats and like it or not, posting over 100 reviews in a week and being 35% down on rates isn't painting you as a “good” member. That's not me having a go, that is a fact of the site, just like most of the other stuff I've posted that MSE members don't want to hear. The guides will back me up on that.

I concur although I would say that members also take notice of current behaviour as well as stats. I do not neccessarily discount someone who has a lower reads to rates ratio, especially if I notice that they have since been making an effort to read and rate more and constructively.

Not forgetting it is not just about quantity of rates but also quality. If someone wanders round blanket VU'ing every review they read and just pasting "Good review" onto it I will be less inclined to read them than i would someone who bothers to rate more strictly and comment in a constructive knowledgable fashion.

Firstly, don't you *dare* tell my wife to grow up again.

What sort of person are you that has a go at a pregnant woman? She's already pointed out that your posts have upset her. You really are low.

Let's do that, shall we? You have 40 posts on here and three have been thanked. You do the maths.

I've had enough of this.

I will have one are they French Fancies? I like the lemon ones.

Tea?
• Liewise, as reviews continue to be active even with amember no longer active, some mebers will garner large amounts of reads during a time when theya re not active, only to return and be ana ctive community member. So its entirely possible for a member to have more reads than rates, and people who are away for months at a time before returning should not be expected to suddenly read 500 reviews to even out their number of reads to that of those who read their ops.

CampFreddy,

The other thread was closed because of you making people uncomfortable about so- called cartels. People actually have a life and don't sit down plotting and planning about how to make 1.5p from a cartel!!!
But people WERE forming cartels on the last thread! It was all there for people to see! While the people involved might not have been aware of the rules, common sense would have suggested it might have been a little bit naughty. Don't whine at me just because MSE members were called on it by other members, not just me. If people were uncomfortable because of it, then bl00dy good! They'll know better in future.

The other post was closed and the emphasis on this one is to talk about dooyoo and reviews etc. I am not a fan of people moaning either and am ignoring the moany posts. What is the point in harping on and on about conspiracies. It is a review site for people who enjoy writing. You don't own it and neither does anyone else so please stop acting as if it is your company.

I wasn't the one to post yet more complaints about guides. Until that point, my one and only post on this thread was informative regarding the other forums (two of which I believe barongreenback is a member). Don't blame me because I choose to call someone on their somewhat childish behaviour and seeming lack of understanding of the site and its members.
