Liewise, as reviews continue to be active even with amember no longer active, some mebers will garner large amounts of reads during a time when theya re not active, only to return and be ana ctive community member. So its entirely possible for a member to have more reads than rates, and people who are away for months at a time before returning should not be expected to suddenly read 500 reviews to even out their number of reads to that of those who read their ops.
But as has been said above Emmysmum, an absence will be noted by the community at large. Some people even post absences in their profiles and chances are, if they're garnering large numbers of reads during a period of absence, they'll have put in the work beforehand. Writers who do little reading around the site will not rake in huge numbers of reads during a period of absence unless they were fortunate enough to write on an extremely popular topic.

I know a lot of arguing has gone on in this thread and I agree with some points and not with others. However, I would like to thank you for telling me some things I did not know and as I have only been on the site a week, yet done 30 reviews, I am definatly going to rate others more as I do feel that I should give back into this communtity and thanks for making me aware:)

Hi Rach,

The newest reviews are on the left hand side of the page. It is the tab under the dooyoo community tab. Hope this helps.

• Funny how there is someone on here banging on about community spirit and yet has consistently criticised the MSE community. Why exactly are you on here then? You are meant to contribute ideas and help about money saving. And if someone is having a hard time you are mean to encourage and support them. Isn't that what community is about? I doubt very much that rude ignorant people are part of the Dooyoo community anymore than they are part of the MSE one.

And I will have a small slice of chocolate cake, please. With cream if at all possible. And for all those who have either been nice or who have been constructive, I will bake you a cake tomorrow. Jmarko will tell you how it tastes!

• By real reads I mean actually reading the review BTW not rating it quickly without reading it before !!!!!!ing off. Members do notice when there review is read and rated quicker than it is posted!

Now, what exactly are you insinuating? :naughty:

I can tell you that many of the reviews I have read several times over ... while waiting for either those video adverts or javascripts to load before the 'Rate' buttons light up!
Sometimes I have to 'Refresh' the page for them to work, or go out of them altogether and click back on the review. And a few of them never work and I sadly haven't been able to rate those reviews at all, (though I guess at least they get the points for the read)

It's not my pc as it happens both at home and at work.
Does anyone else experience difficulties with non-functioning 'Rate' buttons?
Better in my pocket than theirs!
