Especially when often you find something interesting when reding others. One week right after maoning about all tehr epeats on TV, I came across a review for a box set for a TV show I had never heard of, and which had ben recently on teh tube. It was just the sort of thing I love, and I was very happy to have found something to add to my rental queue for something entertaining to watch.budget meals can be good meals0

Thank you Sophief333 and Jmarko (though shouldn't really openly thank him coz I'll probably be criticised for getting hubbie to fight my battles for me!) And thank you secret guide for the advice.
And by the way, Sophief333, Dooyoo is honestly worth it. My reviews were really pants to begin with but have improved loads and people, including the Dooyoo team have emailed to say as much and to thank me for putting the effort in so it does make up for the mean horrible people who are rude just for the sake of it. I don't know if I have read your review or not so I can't comment but if it is constructive criticism, try another review and incorporate whatever was suggested. Also, it's useful to read other reviews to get an idea for what should be included. But remember, at the end of the day, it is your review. You can include whatever you like. I think ones that include all the info you can find from the packaging are a waste of time. The point of a review is your own personal experience, but that is just my opinion - there are plenty on Dooyoo who love reviews that contain lots of detail but not much opinion. There is room for everyone. It's just some people like to shout louder than others and to knock those who are just starting out. Don't be like me and let it upset you because then 50p per review really isn't worth it if you end up in tears!!
Ok, don't know how to delete my account so going to go and change my email address and password to something I will never remember so that I can't post here again. Bye everyone!0 -
I hate to interupt this discussion but I have see nthe metion of Review Centre and Epinions.
Are these any good? Do they have a decent payout?
I have a US address I can have cheques posted to, so find the payout offers that are valid for US addressees only on Epinions worth it. Otherwise, it pays about as much as Ciao, as those fabulous "write 10 reviews and get $10" and "Write 10 reviews that are VERY helpful and earn Double" offers are for US addreses only. having said that,, as you can cross post the reviews, it is a few extra pennies you would not otherwise have, so not a waste of time.
It's also yet another chance to get yourself seen out there. I have had my reviews seen and beenable to take offers for reviewing products and books for renumeration as a result of my work being seen on the various sites. So if you are doing it as a aprt time bit of freelancing, its definitely worth the effort.budget meals can be good meals0 -

You could search down the side of the sofa and then review whatever you find down there! :beer:0 -
It's 50 p for the review when you post it. Then you get more money each time a registered user reads it, and more if it gets crowned. Reviews can easily earn you £3 in the shorter term, and keep on earning pennies until the topic is archived.budget meals can be good meals0

Woo! I got my £30 amazon voucher today. It took a long time to get, but if you make a ticket they are very helpful and will track it for you!

with respect nor is trolling on here. Your post count indicates you are new here and you've already been part of one closer thread - not exactly a great record so far. Maybe you'd like to practise what you preach and stop being so rude?
And yet my join date says Dec 2006. That's hardly new. I only post if I have something to say and the amount of rubbish posted on the previous thread (and this one) gave me plenty of reasons to voice my concerns (and those of others) as a dooyoo member. So I did. My post count nor my joined date doesn't make my point of view invalid.
You can call it trolling if you wish, but I've done nothing more than point out wider issues regarding dooyoo (plus some hypocrisy) than what most people have posted here and I've done so directly to the faces of the people involved. I haven't slunk off to another website to complain about guides and I have "thanked" other members for providing useful information or insightful posts, not bleating like a little kid because someone was rude.
The concerns raised about churners and cartels seems to be justified, but yet the other thread was closed and the attempts were made to sweep the evidence under the carpet, so to speak ("Delete the thread!"). Also, if you're too immature (or lack the self-confidence) to take the criticism that comes with posting written work on the internet on a site where peer review is vitally important, then dooyoo isn't the place for you. Pointing these things out is not trolling, but you might not like what you hear. I'm sorry that you can't see that.
If you respect the community on dooyoo, then you might find the community more respectful towards you. I really can't see that from some members, judging by the posts made on here.0 -

Actually just a quick update, I have had a lot of emails of support on dooyoo just generally and today I have had them from 4 different people who I didn't even know before, as a result of the things posted on here. So I guess dooyoo, like mse, contains in the main a group of nice, friendly, normal, people who want to get on and support each other and then a few who just like to put people down. You get out of dooyoo whatever you want and if you are jealous that someone else produces more reviews or better reviews or reviews in a different way, that's just tough! Different people enjoy reading different reviews. There are loads of really short ones from newbies on there today and I have generally rated them somewhat useful because they don't contain much info. But if they are short but still give me a good flavour about a product, then they are obviously just more succinct and better writers than those who take 1000 words to get to the same point.0
