I've been using Dooyoo for a while now and am very close to being able to claim my £10 Amazon voucher... Question is, do I leave it and wait until I can claim the £50 cash instead? What would you be more inclined to do?
Depends what you want. I tend to cash the amazon vouchers because I love my books so it gives me my fix of them. If you need the cash then wait for the fifty (takes me about four/five months to get that amount with regular crowns etc). If you are going to spend on amazon though I would wait till you have twetny so you get free Super Saver delivery. You can double the items you can buy then.0 -
Dear All,
I am feeling down because there is a pain in the neck guide on dooyoo who constantly disses my reviews (ok generally speaking it's probably deserved!) - Normally I wouldn't care but I did a review of Happy Feet and said the animation was so good and lifelike that at times it was almost like watching a nature programme.
So, the guide (let's not name him because that's why we closed the last thread!) comments 'what are the effects like?' So I email him coz seriously enough is enough and I am sick of him finding things to moan about that aren't there. (Not just with my reviews but everyone's who isn't a fellow guide). What the hell does he think the effects are like? It's a cartoon and it is so good it's almost lifelike... so in my humble opinion the effects are um, well, how can I put this... LIFELIKE! :rotfl:
Anyway, I wanted a moan coz Jmarko is always going on about what a nice bunch of people his invisible friends on MSE are. :T :T :T
P.S. I am 8 months pregnant and hormonal but that hasn't got anything to do with it so nobody say it does. Right?!0 -
No offence, but why post at all? You've basically admitted that the guide in question has probably correct in their comments on most of your reviews so why come on here on the rare occasion that you feel he got it "wrong"? You've emailled him, that should be enough.
I'd be more concerned about the fact you've posted 109 reviews in a week, rated 500 and been rated over 740 times or the "Excellent review. Nominated!" comment from a certain member...
There's a dooyoo guide who has come on to the thread and posted information and offered themselves up to give help and advice and yet members like that one above are "thanked" for whining about the site or starting a new thread (and hiding all the evidence of the cartel stuff).
Sometimes I wonder about people.0 -
Hi, sorry, Jmarko's Wifey, but I have read several of your reviews, and i am afraid that the things the guide and others have to say are spot on. You are just cranking out the reviews, and while theya re somewhat useful or useful, not really up to scratch for people who are coming to the site via Google looking for one stop information from a consumer. People don't want to have to flit to other websites to read more about stuff, nor do they want to have to read a hundred reviews before being able to make up their minmds. they want ONE place and a handful of opionions, so taking the time to hone descriptive skills and ponder what a consumer is looking for when researching a product. No one is trying to be mean to anyone. The site is a business, and they want the reviews to be of a certain high standard, and give rewards to encourage people to write to that standard.Per haps instead of getting wound up, you should take a step back, read some of the crowned reviews in the category you wish to write your review in, and see just what yours is lacking so you can improve. Better reviews menas more reads, more reads more chance of getting nominations for a free £1.50 worth of crowns. I amke £10-20 a week on Dooyoo, just with 1-2 reviews a day. I went through getting the suggestions for improvements and so on, and took it all onboard and saw my reviewing skills improve so that quality yielded this many points, rather than quanitity.Esp given that on sites like these, turning out more than 3 reviews a day is considered churning, and the majority of community members will shun a writer for that, so that a person will find return reads dwindle.budget meals can be good meals0

I just posted my first review and within minutes got bad feedback, can’t be arsed with it to be honest. Looks like it takes ages to earn cash.0

I just looked over your review, and I don't see any bad feedback. What i saw was constructive criricism meant to point you towards improving your review to get higher ratings and rewards.Taking thata dvice will get the cash flowing sooner with less effort at writing multiple reviews.budget meals can be good meals0

I don't have a problem with how people rate reviews. I like to be honest in mine and I appreciate other people being honest when they rate me. And if someone has something constructive to say about a review, I will take it on board and amend that review if I am able to. Also, comments on reviews are useful and I enjoy reading and writing them.
What I do object to is being criticised continually by a certain guide who is actually quite offensive in his emails, which obviously I can't relay completely here. I have read his comments on other people's reviews and he is exactly the same so I'm not taking it personally. I just thought I would mention it. Wish I hadn't bothered.
Also, I don't know why I keep getting hassled for writing lots of reviews. I am off work sick at the moment so I am literally able to do this all day. If I was working full time I would probably be writing one review a week.
I can't believe how rude some people are. I would never dream of emailing someone I have never met and know nothing about, and criticise them. Another guide emailed me with constructive criticism, a few emails went back and forth and I found her advice really helpful and I improved my reviews as a result. It's not that I can't take criticism, it is that I don't like people who are rude. There is no excuse for it. I think everyone should have a little more consideration for how their comments will affect the person receiving them.
I am getting so fed up with all this I think I might just quit.0 -
As an aside, does anyone know how to delete an mse account? I'm done with forums. It's more my husband's bag and I think if I delete my account then I won't be tempted to post anymore! I can't be trusted simply not to use it - I've never been good with temptation! :EasterBun
If anyone can help, big thanks in advance!0 -

Again, why mention it here? Discuss it with the person in question or report them to dooyoo for unfair rating and/or commenting. I'm neither supporting nor defending the person in question here, but if you have issues, then deal with them.

It's because you've written 100 "reviews" in a week and given nothing/little back to the site. You've launched yourself into the middle of what is supposedly a community and it appears you are being selfish. The community doesn't like selfish people, unsurprisingly. (Does anyone?) Got a lot of time on your hands? Why not read around the site and give something back?

Well, the reason theya re hassling you over writing so many reviews (if they are doing that), is because of the way the site is set up. Everytime someone writes a review, it goes to the top of the new review page. So if you write 20 reviews that day, people who form the comminity there will go and see only your reviews and have to trawl through several pages to find those of others. I understand you are home all day, so it is tempting to write loads and lods of reviews, but instead of posting them on one site, it would probably be more productive to psot them on the different sites. Say, like write three for Dooyoo, three different ones for Ciao, some for Review Centre, and some for Epinions, and read and rate on those as well so the site is not "flooded", raising the ire of those who are also writing to try to get a few quid and finding their review shoved off the newest reviews page by someone writing so many in one day. A bonus is, when you have less time on your hands, you can then crosspost all those differnet reviews.
