This absolutely takes the biscuit; I am seriously considering leaving DooYoo; I had an email accusing me of padding out my reviews; I'd like to know how and where because I do not do this at all. They are just bullying me now with false accusations and I am sick of it; my username on there is the same as here so if anyone's interested, I'd love to see how and where I am meant to be padding my reviews and writing "substandard" ones. !!!!!!.0

I picked a couple of your reviews at random and can't see that "padding out" appliesSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

I have looked at a few of your reviews and cannot see any obvious cases of padding. However I do think some of your reviews are skating on thin ice - 4 short paragraphs to review a movie isn't really going to contain much in the way of plot or opinion for example, and therefore could be considered as outwith the criteria Dooyoo set for users.
If I were you I wouldn't get upset - contact a Guide for advice and ask Dooyoo exactly where they see "padding" in your work.
It might also be a good idea to go back over older reviews and see how you can improve them.
I say this to help you BTW,, not to criticise you needlessly.
ETA - I read your review for the Ringo Starr album and that could be construed as "padding" as you have reviewed very little that is included on the album but written a fair bit about what isn't on it.
Hope this helps.0 -

Good shout. I don't know that the Dooyoo staff are "bullies". All of the contact I've had has been extremely courteous. I've not read any of your reviews either, but if what CC says is true (short reviews), then I think you do leave yourself more open to accusations of padding etc. than if you write a 500 word review. Just because Dooyoo's hard limit is 150 words, doesn't mean that a good review can be 150 words.
Write them an email, keep your tone neutral, calm and polite andask them what's going on. They've recently gotten very busy with an influx of members communication so a bit of patience is probably wise, too.0 -

I looked over your reviews and to be honest I can see where dooyoo are coming from. I found that some of your reviews were good and very informative but there were others that were only just over the word limit and didn't contain much information. I'm thinking specifically of your review of i've loved you so long.
I've copy and pasted your review into word and it was 185 words. If you take out all of the stuff that isn't really relevant to your review (things that don't describe the product or give your opinion) it's still over 150 words but very little of it is opinion. It's nearly all describing the film. So I think that could count as padding.
As for seeing how your reviews are substandard I don't understand how you could read your reviews and not see that they're substandard. You only have to compare them to other reviews on dooyoo to see where you're going wrong.
Your review on I've loved you so long I felt was quite poorly set out, there doesn't seem to be any kind of structure to it. There is little or no information about the plot, characters and why you did or didn't like it. And there is very little opinion.
There's a discussion earlier in this thread about what people consider makes a good review, why don't you go back and read that?0 -
Quick question for those of you who get paid by cheque - do dooyoo send the cheque out in a plain white envelope with your name and address hand written on the front and post marked London? Its just I received such an envelope today - but with nothing in it!
And I'm baffled as to where it came from so wondered if it was meant to have contained the cheque I requested last week!!

From recollection the envelope is branded with the Dooyoo logo and slightly "off-white" (recycled look). I also recall them being sent from Germany (although cheque is drawn on a UK account). So I doubt that your envelope is the Dooyoo cheque.0 -

Thanks for your reply. Glad to hear that, as it means it should still arrive soon. Doesn't explain the mystery of the random envelope I got today though....0 -
I actually received my first cheque from Dooyoo today - Sorry to say it arrived in a handwritten envelope which was white - posted in Uk - and no reference to Dooyoo anywhere on the envelope which contained only the cheque0
