Wooo well done on the crown!
Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.0 -
Thanks you guys
I've not had access to Dooyoo for a few days so it must have been earlier on in the week.
CheapC -Let's not go down that well-worn path :rotfl:, I'm just a very micro-managing person and love to know *everything*It's nice to know someone read your review, loved it so much to nominate you for it.

In *theory* it didn't need to be nominated by anyone - dooyoo make the decision. In practice, it certainly helps, if only to bring your review to Dooyoo's attention. But Dooyoo decide - it's not a 'vote' of the number of nominations.

I unfortunatly got two reviews locked out of my 64 reviews, all my reviews were marked very useful apart from these two which were only useful so i guessed i would have to changed them. I changed them and made them a lot more informative, they were actually one of the first couple i did.
Now that i have changed them when will they be unlocked? What will happen from there?
ThanksLove my hobby ;-)0 -

That will be up to dooyoo. Have you messaged/email them to tell them you have made changes? If they are happy with your revisions the reviews will be unlocked although it is unlikely you will get any lost miles back you may gain miles from subsequent reads.0 -
I have messaged dooyoo twice and got no reply.
I dont expect to get the miles back but i would like to get them unlocked as im retisent of writing anymore if they will never get unlocked if you get me?Love my hobby ;-)0 -
If your review was bad enough that they locked it then I don't see why that would make you reluctant to write more. I'm sure that when I apply for my payment some of my early posts will be locked (I've even requested that some of them are and then rewritten reviews that product) and I think the best thing to do is just forget about those reviews and move on. Learn from past mistakes.
I've noticed recently on dooyoo that some people are writing really unnecessarily long reviews with more information that I would ever want. For some of them you might as well not bother with the film/book because there's so much detail, the only thing they miss out is the ending.
I never want to give people a not useful or somewhat useful when they've written so much but for some things I find it really not useful if they put too much information in.
In my opinion there are some things that need a lot of information; days out, hotels to name two but there are other things when a short synopsis will do. I guess if there are headings it's not so bad because you can just read what you're interested in.0 -

You should be giving out those NUs and SUs where necessary though. That's the whole point of the peer review system. "Effort" should never be a criteria for rating. If a non-member turns up to Dooyoo and sees a well-written, but ultimately useless review of something that everyone has VUed because of the effort, then we all ultimately lose out because that person will not use Dooyoo as an information resource ever again. Rating isn't done to pander to our egos... it's done to sort reviews by usefulness for the non-member. That's why you concentrate on your own experiences and opinions when rating and writing. If a review's long but tells you little, give it a lower rating. If a review spoils a book or film by giving away too much plot, give it a lower rating. The more people that do this, then the less people will get annoyed by getting a lower rate as lower rates will become more frequent around the site for all members.0 -
I have to say I agree with almost everything Freddy has written (there's a change
).
I am getting tired of reading drivel that people have rated as "Very Useful" when quite clearly it isn't.
There seems to be a glut of junk on Dooyoo just now which hasn't been proof read or spell checked and is almost impossible to read. It contains little or no opinion and in some cases tells me next to nothing about the product.
To see this junk being rated "Very Useful" is really quite galling, even although I am pretty sure Dooyoo will probably lock it in the end.
I have seen people write on reviews and comments on Dooyoo about how over-rating reviews gets their goat, but then I see they have dutifully over-rated some appalling stuff themselves, which really leaves me wondering if they know what they are talking about
I also agree that some long reviews are less than very useful - I recall reading a repetitive and very lengthy review not long after I joined Dooyoo which I rated as "useful" - and received a message from the author asking why I had the temerity to do this. It's nothing personal!0 -
The trouble is CF that people are scared of revenge rating. I've noticed sine I started rating a long more SU or U, I've had a lot more U's in return. It might just be coincidence, but it does put people off rating less that VU.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0
