As for me, pretty much anything. Not sure that there is a category I haven't posted in yet...

I like toys & games cos the house is full of them and I think I can add something and help people know whether a toy is good or bad. Some of my best reviews are probably film ones but I actually don't enjoy these. Unlike Baron I like food ops and started a bit of a wine series but then found that people weren't that interested so I stopped.

I love gadget reviews but need more to review!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Thanks CC for your help.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
  • CMH and Baron, I agree with you.

I just review as I see fit and rate in the same way. I do wish they'd do something about the churners and those who pad it out with copied and pasted ingredient listings etc.

Churners aren't breaking any rules, sadly. If you see reviews with precious litte opinion in it, then feel free to report it to Dooyoo. I do know that they are lopoking into reducing the amount of reviews without any opinion/experience etc.

I mainly review books because I read a lot so there's plenty there for me to review. I also like to review hotels that I stay in and any places that I visit and I sometimes review films.
I would probably try to review most things but there are just some things that I wouldn't have enough to say about. Like my television for example, if I reviewed it it would probably be a 50 word review because I have nothing to say about it...to me televisions are all the same!

    That is so funny!

On a more serious note (serious for me at least) I just logged into dooyoo and have LESS miles than I did last time I logged in. I just can't imagine why...unless they've closed my really early reviews or something.
  • Check all your reviews, they may be locked.

If so, redo them to a higher standard and e-mail them to unlock it.
  • I am in denial about nothing thanks - the so-called "MSE clicking cartel" is mythical because its your interpretation of a situation that occurred on a now locked thread. And its an interpretation and myth you personally state as fact when in truth its merely how you viewed it in your opinion.

    ...

For those who are unaware, a few people who at the time were new to Dooyoo, listed their Dooyoo user names on the thread and suggested we add each other to their Circle of Friends. It was however quickly pointed out that this might be construed as a clicking cartel, and as a result I did not add any names to my Circle of Friends. Many others stated on that thread that they hadn't done so either - and I believe they were being truthful.

ROFL. There's nothing to interpret! People asked others for user names to add to their CoF based on nothing more than MSE membership, made subsequent posts claiming that they'd specifically read through their CoF to give their "chums" the reads and stated that they would do so on a daily basis. Did these things happen? Yes. That makes it fact, not opinion. That's cartel-like behaviour and, newbie or not, anyone with half a brain cell would know that kind of activity would be against the site's T&Cs.

Additionally, there was precious little in the way of objection from other members until people (not me... check out post #234) started posting about cartels on the thread whereupon the claims of innocence started as did the righteous indignation of those who thought they were being singled out. Hah.

This is an ongoing problem on MSE forums in general, I feel, where "get rich quick" schemes are often touted and no-one says anything when people are clearly taking the urine. The easy answer here is that if you do not wish to be included in a group accused of doing "bad" things, speak up about it when you see negative behaviour.

If people were posting in that last thread and never voicing any disapproval at those people who were claiming to be adding people to their CoF and habitually rating them daily, simply to earn them cash, then I don't think they can complain about the site or forum getting a bad name. Few people did, and those that did were shouted down. If you were as quick to criticise those taking the mick out of Dooyoo as you were to cry about the accusations of cartels, then the site wouldn't have the reputation it does over on Dooyoo.

Even now, after the mass cull of that thread, you can still look at posts like #78, #112, #177, #183, #202, #218 on the last thread where cartel-like and other negative behaviour is stated. Where are all the posts from those who were quickly pointing out about cartel-like action? I can't see any and the most negative thing anyone says about it is "we'd never get away with it and I don't want my account closed."
