i come on this site to read about dooyoo as I am interested in it and write on it. This thread is once again getting full up with an argument. pm each other if you really want as this is not helping new users learn in a friendly way about the site. either that or create your own thread camp freddy.
I did think I would make some money and found a few things to write reviews on.
When I saw this thread,I thought it would help me, but all I see is petty agruments from people who I can only assume have a personal connection with Dooyoo, or have a problem with ordinary people earning some extra money.
Dooyoo obviously benefits from having lots of members and good reviews.
I agree that constructive reviews should be writtern and have found some of the long reviews contain a lot of waffle. My reviews so far have been short but full of facts.
Please keep this thread to good, helpful advice.:T£2 saver club, over £200 now:

Hi I have used mse for many reasons and joined Dooyoo via a link posted by someone(not a referral)

See, here's the thing. What is helpful (or indeed useful) to one person, is less so for another.
As a longish term Dooyoo member, I agree that dooyoo benefits from lots of members and good reviews. However, there are plenty of reviews that aren't much good, and some reviews that might be helpful to some but not to others - hence the peer review system.
I've not read your reviews (I don't know who you are on dooyoo), so can't make a call on your reviews (or indeed, anyone else's on here - I've not gone seeking them out, and don't remember any posted usernames), but if they are only full of facts, I'd probably find them somewhat useful, as I'd also want to see some opinion (or even mostly opinion, depending on the product and how familiar it's likely to be - you need fewer 'facts' when writing about a candy bar than you may need for a sat nav).
Having said all that, this isn't dooyoo rules or anything - simply my opinion. I use my peer review (i.e. I rate a review's usefulness) by how useful *I* think it is. Others may (and I would expect they would) disagree with me.
Where problems may arise from an 'official' point of view is if the following behaviours occur (and I am NOT implying anyone here has behaved in such a way, just pointing out the difference...)
1. if groups of people are 'rubberstamping' reviews - i.e. if a group of people read mostly or exclusively the reviews of that group, and rated them VU regardless of quality; and or
2. If a member or groups of members rated non-group member's review down SIMPLY because they'd be rated less than VU - i.e. revenge rating (giving a writer an NU because they'd given you an NU).
However, it is not abuse to read the reviews of your friends, nor is it abuse to rate against the grain (i.e. if a review is less than VU to you, please rate it less, even if everyone else has rated it VU).
There's tons more advice out there, but things like not churning, or doing lots of rating, or joining in the community aspects - that advice will enhance your experience there - you will get more reads, and rates, and probaby have more fun (and eventually make more money), but you don't have to. Your call.
Cheers!

I am more concerned that some members are just so indignant at the correct statements posted that cartel-like behaviour was exhibited by some members of MSE earlier this year. Certainly, the Dooyoo hierarchy were very interested in the previous thread when I reported it to them.I agree that constructive reviews should be writtern and have found some of the long reviews contain a lot of waffle. My reviews so far have been short but full of facts.0 -
Hi all
I havent been on here for a while, what with moving house and all the associated hassles that have been going on since DH was discharged from the army a few months ago. And my dooyoo attendance has been similarly appalling, but I must get back into it again! If anything I have about 70 emails that I have to get through. I have a load of reviews to read and must get back to my writing again.
I feel like I have been missing something over the last few months and realised the other day what it was - I've been missing writing and reading on dooyoo! It is amazing how addictive it can be to read other peoples reviews and learn their perspective on products and services.
Some people have mentioned that they thought that there was cartel like behaviour going on. I have never had a problem on dooyoo and although i do read the reviews from my CoT first, I do like to read reviews from others as well, I usually end up adding the best authors (in my opinion) to my CoT - which in turn adds to the number of reviews I end up reading, but is that now what dooyoo is all about? Writing, reading and rating?
Anyhow, its good to be back! Hoping everyone is keeping well!LBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

I've now redeemed £100 and I don't even use the site that much!! I never write more than 3 reviews a day but I actually write about 8 a month overall, and have still managed this sum with very little effort. I think I am going to put some more time into it now.:j0

These days I rarely write at all, one a week at most on average but I definately find that the more of other peoples reviews I read and rate the more I earn, so I tend to spend alot of time reading other peoples reviews instead of whatever else I'm meant to be doing while I'm online. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Like you I tend to do it while I'm doing other stuff online as well.LBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

Trouble is with mse, ciao, dooyoo and a couple of other forums I'm a member of the 'other' stuff which tends to be the whole point of me being online in the first place is getting forgotten or put off, lol. Ahh well at least I've got my work done for today, might try to plow through the pile of alerts in my inbox.
Editted to add. I have 40 miles pending hows that work when the miles are awarded 15 at a time?
Editted again to say apparently you get miles for suggesting a product and one of my suggestions has just been added to the site. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.
