Thank you Tap Lady and Red Ruby and Dazi for your kind words. Life is getting better for all of us. we have even booked a holiday to Egypt for late September. we cancelled two holidays as we thought we were not able to leave DS2 but he has now insisited that we go and even got me a book for my birthday in July which was entitled places to see before you die!(not quite sure what he meant) and he told me to start going on holiday and enjoying myself.
I know life has been far worse for a lot of you out there but its hard when you are unable to help someone you love.
Anyway as someone has already said it must be wine o'clock by now!
I hope everyone has a good evening and an even better day tomorrow.xx0 -
Thanks Dazi, Pippa, wmf - it does feel good to come out of 'lurkdom'! Hope you all have a great evening. Mioliere, good luck for tomorrow!~Be true to your work, your word, and your friend~0

Evening all,
Busy day to-day...to town this morning to collect rental car...have lent mine to DD2 as she wanted to go see some friends down country but couldn't rent one until she has had a full license for at least 2 years...so I have a brand new Opel Astra for a week in exchange for my little six year old Renault Clio!
This afternoon I went clothes shopping with DD4 and the two grandsons....she starts her teaching practice on 25th August and needs 'suitable' clothes...anyway four hours and €80 later she has two pairs trousers, 2 sweaters, 4 light tops and is all set...but boys were bored stiff so were treated to smoothies and chicken nuggets. I managed to get a pair of shorts which fit in Debenhams for €4.65 so very pleased with that, as I only really have one comfortable pair of shorts for beach-walking.
Mioliere, all my best wishes to your son and DIL to be for a long, healthy and happy life together. You have been so wonderful with the help you have given up to the big day that I hope you will relax to-morrow and enjoy the festivities...tears and all, will look forward to some photos when you recover.
Get well soon to those who have been or still are ill, or who have family who are ill, have been a bit slipshod in reading threads over last couple of days.
Hanniebis...welcome to bedlam!
Enjoy your evening all

Evening Guys!
Sorry I havent posted much but I havent been well again. A blood vessel burst in my right calf and I had to have it drained by the nurse as it was huge and very painful. It looks horrid still but it should be ok. My blood glucose levels have been very low even after eating, so am having to test 4 times a day....and you know what Im like with needles:eek:
Managed to get OH life insurance through the Post Office today for £8pm with £43 back through Quidco and £100 cashback after 3 months of payments:j :j :j :j ....its for 100k cover till he's 65, but may stop it after the 3 months
...its just to get the cashback really;)
My gyny has been back in contact with me and has said that it looks like I will have to have a full hysterectomy after all, but should know for definite next month after some tests are done. I really hope not as I dont want to go under another GA.
Have 2 friends coming over for lunch on Saturday, but am just getting some fresh crusty rolls (6 for £1 from local bakers) with ham, salad etc then doughnuts for pud...from the same bakers (4 for £1)....and they are the best around:D ...then we are invited out Sunday at friends for a roast:beer:
My helper couldnt come this week as her partner walked out on her last week. I have helped her with whom she needs to contact with regards to council tax and possible benefits and she has been really grateful. I know it sounds selfish, but I really need her and hope she is able to come back ok.....that makes me sound like a right b**ch, but I know what I mean:o
My mum called today to say she had bought me a mobility Scooter as mine has been playing up, but she has ordered to her house, so she wants us to visit if possible next week to see her and collect it:rolleyes: ....its really very nice of her and I appreciate what she has done, but she doesnt have too.
(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Haribo & Pink)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Happy Birthday to the people I missed...sorry
Hope everyone is ok and that I havent missed anything.
Hugs to all.

Big gentle hug - your leg sounds really painful.
DD(14) is back from her friend's birthday party and other DD(19) has not got back yet so waiting up for her.
Had mackeral and salad for tea as it was such a nice day and then the heavens opened!!!
Need to remember to set the alarm for 6a.m. tomorrow and can't stop yawning.

So pleased Dave is home.

Pen-Pin - sorry to hear you have been poorly again. I know where you are coming from re the needles, I had to learn how to inject DSD and while I can take any injections myself, I found myself nearly fainting at the thought of injecting anyone else. sounds like a good deal on the insurance, even if you cancel after getting the cashback. Hoping you will not need another GA for the hysterectomy. Your local bakers sounds great, if I had one like that I think my bm would be redundant! Don't think you are sounding like a b**ch re your helper as it stands to reason that you get used to someone and its not easy when they can't be there. Like you say, your mum didn't have to get you a new scooter, but I bet she is just really happy she can get you something to make your life easier, I know I would feel that way.
I have just had my Mr T delivery, and I cannot belive that I have spent so much on nothing
am going to some serious freezer check and try to meal plan with what is in there. Am not counting the two bottles of wine I got as they are neccessary
but the rest, I don't think brain was in gear when I ordered
Well am off now to get virtual outfit ready for the wedding tomorrow :rotfl:hope me hat looks ok :rotfl:whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine
