    Quote from little_devil_moneysaver

"Post office also updated their T+C's at this time, due to the amount of applicants, NOT BECAUSE THERE WAS A MISTAKE IN THEIR T+C'S! Now you have to sign up for a minimum of 12 months, paying £10 a month minimum, when the original terms were £5 per month and cashback after 3 months."

I don't wish to be pedantic, but you shouldn't make statements like this unless you KNOW them to be true. I happen to know that it was a genuine mistake in the T&C's. How do I know? Because when I get in the lift every day at the office, there is a poster advertising the Post Office life insurance to staff with an increased cashback offer. The T&C's on this poster quite clearly state a minimum of £10 a month, and cashback payment after 12 months.

Anyone without a policy number heard back from the PO yet? I was told they would ring me back last Friday so I'm still waiting.

hi...not heard anything so far...so gave them a call...they are saying they are trying to resolve it...they are now saying the cut-off time is 12 o'clock and that they are still trying to retrieve policies from their website....

If thats the case then P.O marketing people need to be sacked, because some of us are aware of another life insurance offer that is offering 100.00 cashback + 25.00 in vouchers after 1st premium is paid, with minimum premium 5.00 a month, with the cashback being paid after three premiums have been paid.

    Notice the similarities. :rolleyes2

U saying that nobody noticed the "error" on the webpage for TEN days.

I suppose I have to be careful what I do say, but it wouldn't surprise me that it wasn't noticed. In fact, it would probably have gone completely unnoticed had it not been for the eagle eyed OP on this post.

I would advise NOT to mention the other "Similar" offer because there is a big difference between the two.
The post office cashback wasn't 100% dependant on a cashback site for the payout, as £100 is given via the post office and £43 via a cashback site. This other similar policy is 100% dpendant on a cashback site paying out.

Retailers from cashback sites can decide not to pay for any reason and therefore if this was posted to the masses - i can see a lot of people being disappointed.

The post office offer was NOT a mistake in there T&C's. It was a genuine offer to bring in new custom.

I'm sorry James, but you seem to have misunderstood and / or got mixed up between the different 'offers.' In my original post, I was pointing out that the same life insurance offer was (and still is) also made available to employees, but with an enhanced cashback just for employees, but clearly showing the £10 minimum and 12 month wait for the cashback. This offer to employees has always been £10 minimum, even when the website was showing differently. My point was that this is what I believe the offer that went out to the public SHOULD have been as it mirrors what the T&C's were eventually changed to.

Bristolleedsfan then quoted a different offer from a different company as evidence that the Post Office life insurance was comparable to others that are still out there.
  • If this wasn't a mistake then I'm sorry but the PO's marketing dept must be pretty slow on the uptake. Actually, come to think of it, it it WAS a mistake then the same conclusion must be drawn, lol.

As I said above,I'd better not say anything in case anyone from marketing reads this thread, but the words "chocolate teapot" spring to mind. ;)

Had a reply from my quidco enquiry....

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. We will only be able to pay the cashback amount that was on offer at the time you completed your purchase. If you feel your cashback is not correct you can raise an earnings enquiry at www.quidco.com/new-enquiry and we will investigate the matter with the merchant. You will need to wait 14 days before raising an enquiry. Thanks, Quidco.

Well, as I had to complete the purchase over the phone due to not getting a plan number, it's not looking good for the quidco cashback. I think I originally "completed" the purchase at around 11.20am but even so I think quidco had already shut up shop by then even though PO were still letting applications go through.

Anyone know how to raise an enquiry if the option to select £43 life insurance is no longer there??
