I bought some 500 point mobile recycling envelopes on Ebay and have been credited with the points, even though the envelopes you now get in store are 300 points.

Yeah I have been using the 500 point envelopes each quarter and still got the points this quarter added to my accounts.:j

Same question from me too!!! I spent ages yesterday looking at codes being sold on ebay and reading feedback.... couldn't make my mind up whether it would work or not!! Not a fortune to lose, I know, but every penny counts at the mo!

Would be keen to know if anyone out there has taken the plunge!!

I would think that at that price the codes will be the 2 XX codes that are about at the moment. They can be found on this site and only work on an account that hasn't had an online order, or hasn't had one for a while. HTH

    Hi
Sorry if this is a stupid question - I have checked as many previous threads as I can to see if already answered.

I've noticed people seem to save huge amounts of points for holidays etc - but the vouchers have a use by date on them.

Are people saving all these points in a matter of months? How much are you all eating!!! (joke)

 Does anyone know if Tesco offer any incentives or bonus points for recommending a friend to their Credit Card?

I've just recommended a friend for online shopping and we both get 500 points when they order £50 or more on their shop. Just wondered if there was a similar scheme for the credit card?

(I'm on a mission collecting points for next year's holiday and my mum and best friend are both interested in the points collecting thing. Don't think they realise how addictive it can be though!!!) :D

Any info or help would be greatly appreciated x

    Hello,

how do you recommend a friend? I have been looking on the tesco site for ages and can't fine it anywhere!

    Thank you!

Hello everyone, I work for tesco head office and all these ideas for accumilating clubcard points are all good ones ... but there are a few exceptions. Now having worked on the clubcard system, knowing the "in's and out's", taking calls and dealing with too many queries for my own good ... I've learnt alot.

Now, there has been a change to the credit card point system first of all. This took place about a year ago, and unfortunately many customers misunderstand the rate. Outside of tesco is 1 point for every £4 spent, in tesco is the standard rate; 1 point for every £1 spent plus your 5 points for every £4 spent. I can't stress this enough, please call the clubcard helpline and make sure your credit card account is MERGED together with your clubcard account otherwise points start getting muddled up. I have taken so many calls where customers don't feel they are receiving as much points as they think simply because their credit card clubcard account isn't merged with their standard clubcard account. This way it gives you flexibility with points.

Now, in regards to the receipts being taken and having points added on. There is going to be a new policy in place fairly soon I think. Tesco stores and head office alike WILL be keeping a VERY close eye on customers in car parks and whatnot. We have noticed a large amount of points being added every 2nd or 3rd day by the same customer, so obviously the company is starting to get a little suspicious. Anyone caught will be completely banned from the clubcard scheme, and will not be entitled to any points already accumilated. The admin and management have been in meetings over this and things are going to get tight.

For the coupons you receive every quarter with your statement, these are simply random coupons. I completely agree that Tesco are being a little tight when it comes to the coupons, but that's what's happening now customers are finding illigitimate ways of adding points; such as taking receipts.

Any replacement cards will ALWAYS have a new number. We never duplicate the same clubcard number twice, it's a standard policy. So please don't become confused when you see a different number on your new clubcard.

One other thing I have noticed when taking calls for clubcard queries is that customers tend to think that all the points go onto the one card. This is not the case. You have one account, and all previous cards are LINKED to the account. They do not "carry" the points, so please don't get confused when you think that you lose points because it's a new number. It's not the case at all. We try and offer flexibility with your cards. Typically you can use any of your previous cards in conjunction with your new card because a I explained, they are simply linked to your account.

If you have applied for a clubcard through post, please phone the clubcard helpline because the royal mail cannot be trusted. Again, I have had so many customers phone up because they haven't been sent a new clubcard when they sent their application form. I believe the royal mail to be very unreliable with these so please phone us and we can certainly have you registered over the phone and have the new card out to you within 2 weeks. The temporary card you have been using still collects points onto an empty account, so you won't miss out on any points.

The baby club vouchers are SPECIFIC to items such as nappies, milk etc.

One other thing I have to point out, there are certain products instore that have promotional points on them. Now I don't believe this promotion is displayed instore ... this I do not know why but the store is obligated to nonetheless. There are items which give you 200 points per item. I can get a list of promotional points on specific items if you like, give me a private message for this.

Our clubcard system monitors when you use your clubcard, where, what time, what till etc. This is NOT a breach of data protection as this is perfectly legal, and without this system Tesco would not be able tp provide the new schemes in place today. These receipt points everyone is referring to, Tescos head office CAN see when someone is doing this illigitimately. For instance you go shopping tomorrow, pay for it and earn your points. You go in the next day with your receipt which is dated for the day before. We can see this and please try and refrain from doing this as it really isn't worth it. As I said, we are now becoming alot more strict in terms of this.

If any one has ANY questions relating to the clubcard scheme, please do not hesitate to private message me. I am more than happy to answer any questions :)

    Take care everyone.

Why don’t Tesco advertise the extra points on products anymore? I used to see them round the store or online but I haven’t seen any in ages!!! :(

I think everyone on this forum would be very pleased to see the products which you have to purchase to get promotional points, especially those desperately trying to save up for lovely holidays in the sun!

  • Hi daisychain13

Luckily I found some instructions on the Paid to Shop website - I would never have found it on the tesco.com site otherwise (thanks, Muddles on PTS!!).

Go to www.tesco.com & log in to your account
Click on Groceries & Wine section
    ............Groceries
............Offers & Ideas - Along tool bar in green writing
............Recommend a Friend - If you scroll down to the bottom this is on the RHS under 'Every Little Helps'
Then just fill in the details smile.gif

The person you recommend needs to spend £50 (before any discounts or BOGOF deals) and they also get 500 points once the order is delivered and paid for. They can also use a code for 1000 points for a £50 shop as well (I can't remember which one my friend used but it was one of the ones listed on this site.

So in total they get 1000 points + 500 points (worth £60 in deals - well worth the trouble!!):T plus the points they would normally get for shopping at Tescos. You get 500 points (£20 in deals) for every friend you recommend (don't think there is any limit!!)

My friend also got an email the next day with a code for an additional £10 off a £75 spend for their next shop (but she hasn't used it yet so don't know if any restrictions on it being used with other codes).

Hope this information is all correct- apologies if I have misunderstood the value of any points or deals - I am new to all this and learning loads from MSE and PTS!!

    Hope this helps!! x

Over the years I have had clubcard points, I have always redeemed the vouchers with the shortest life. Prior to 9/11 I was sitting on a reasonable amount of vouchers, but was not really ready to use them towards a holiday. I contacted clubcard, sent back the ones with 3, 6 and 9 month's expiry and they were credited to my account. I then got new vouchers with 2 year's expiry.

This year, it was the intention of DH and I to blow a large amount of vouchers on a Virgin holiday. Unfortunately, family health issues meant this had to be put on hold. I contacted Clubcard again. The first CS I spoke with told me I had to wait until the vouchers had expired before sending them back. I then tried again, and found someone more knowledgeable. I sent back my vouchers which expired in May and August 2008, and these were credited back to my account. I received a substantial amount of clubcard vouchers a couple of weeks ago, which together with what I had sitting at home, have now been redeemed for Motorpoint deals. Tesco are paying £6,000 towards my new car, I will be paying £2,000.

By the way, I don't shop online, and therefore have not benefitted from any of the online codes.

I hope this answers your question.

No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
