  • My understanding was you got 5 points per £4 spend on the c/c full stop - not in addition to the 4 already for spending £4.

Clubcard plus is more effective with 8 points for the £4.

    Hope this helps

We've decided to use ours toward a Florida holiday for 2010 - I'm curious to know from anyone who's done this -

Did you find the saving worthwhile? i only ask because we wanted to use ours for Butlins last year and found that the 'internet' price was only if you were paying in full - use Tesco vouchers and they want the full price anyway, so you save nothing from somebody else just booking online as normal

It depends on the value of vouchers you have. Virgin give 5% discount by booking online, but if the value of vouchers you have in £ is more than 5% of the brochure cost of the holiday, you save more using them.
eg, when we went to Florida this year, the holiday cost was approx £2800 and we saved £800 using Tesco deals, we would have saved £140 (5%) by booking online so saved £660.
Next year's holiday, we are saving £1300 on a holiday cost of approx £4200, the online discount would have been £210 so we are saving an extra £1090. There's no way we could have afforded this holiday without the Tesco deals!

I work for tesco and they are in the process of investigating individuals who are abusing the clubcard points scheme, for example large numbers of points accumulated, multiple cards at the same address etc. Please be aware that there are limits to the number of ink cartridges and mobile phones that can be recycled both per household and per year. Not worth the risk of being banned from the scheme.

What do they class as 'large numbers'?

  • Sorry if I appear thick.......but how do you get points for empty ink carts? I can't see any mention of this on the tesco or the Tesco Green site?

    Thanks in advance!

Have not posted on thid forum before so be gently but received email yesterday about double clubcard points at Tesco Direct:

"The New Tesco Direct Catalogue is Out Now!

We’ve lowered 1,500 prices since our last catalogue, and
with double Clubcard Points on all purchases up until 28th
September, there’s never been a better time to shop at
    Tesco Direct.
    "
  • They were giving clubcard points to customers who recycled their ink cartridges and mobile phones in store. By large numbers of points, the incident I know of is £1,400 worth. Also reusing your own carrier bags to do your shopping is a good way of legitimately gathering extra points.
  • :D

Can someone tell me which is the better way to collect points - using the Clubcard Plus account (and can you still use your clubcard at the same time when paying for your shopping?), or to use a Tesco credit card with the clubcard?

    HELP!
  • Clubcard plus gives you two points for each £1 you spend on the card in store or on petrol. The Credit card payout I think might be 1 point for each £2 you spend, plus your regular CC points (So if I'm right, effectively 1.5pts per £1) - don't quote me on that bit though. Once you have a CC+ that becomes your clubcard also - you won't need an additional CC as even if you're not paying on the CC+ you can still use it for points only. You can also earn additional CC points with the CC+ through partner retailers.

  • Thanks - I thought the credit card was 4points for every £5, plus the 1point for £1 if you hand your clubcard over too. I will have to check.
