I enquired after the above card. It's basically a debit card (Tesco said) so you don't have to worry about credit checks etc. You get double points for the amount you spend on the card. If you need the pay any difference for shopping via amount method ie. cash, visa etc you will go back to getting one point. Too much hassle I thought.
How can you say too much hassle? It took me about 5 minutes to complete the application form, you post it, and in a couple of weeks they send you a card, which you then use to pay for your Tesco goods.....
Where's the hassle in that?
Plus, you get Double Clubcard Points!!! :T :T :j :j
Definitely no hassle there :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

For my sins i work for RBS on Clubcard Plus and Savings (eek), the credit check we do is simply to confirm that you are who you say you are and live where you say - it leaves a footprint but we're not interested in your "score". The only exception is those who have been made bankrupt before i think. Hope this helps :beer:LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

No its like a debit card just for Tesco outlets including petrol.
You sign up for a direct debit on your application form this can be for as little as £10 per month - I put £50 on then add money on (top up) at customer services counters in any Tesco store.
You can manage your account on-line and view all transactions. You can also check your balance with telephone banking this gives you a freephone number 0800 783 8001 to check your balance before you shop.

Is it just me, or are Tesco cutting back on the extra point vouchers? I have 2 clubcard accounts and the one I spent less on only had money off vouchers with the statement and today I got my wine club mailing which usually has at least 200 extra points when you buy various wines but the only extra point voucher was for online shopping - the rest were 25p or 50p off. What's going on?!!?
I agree, tight gits. Just got mine at it was all 50p off wine, even their 'thanks for being a member' voucher was one of these! Grr.0 -
Hello everyone, I work for tesco head office and all these ideas for accumilating clubcard points are all good ones ... but there are a few exceptions. Now having worked on the clubcard system, knowing the "in's and out's", taking calls and dealing with too many queries for my own good ... I've learnt alot.
Now, there has been a change to the credit card point system first of all. This took place about a year ago, and unfortunately many customers misunderstand the rate. Outside of tesco is 1 point for every £4 spent, in tesco is the standard rate; 1 point for every £1 spent plus your 5 points for every £4 spent. I can't stress this enough, please call the clubcard helpline and make sure your credit card account is MERGED together with your clubcard account otherwise points start getting muddled up. I have taken so many calls where customers don't feel they are receiving as much points as they think simply because their credit card clubcard account isn't merged with their standard clubcard account. This way it gives you flexibility with points.
Now, in regards to the receipts being taken and having points added on. There is going to be a new policy in place fairly soon I think. Tesco stores and head office alike WILL be keeping a VERY close eye on customers in car parks and whatnot. We have noticed a large amount of points being added every 2nd or 3rd day by the same customer, so obviously the company is starting to get a little suspicious. Anyone caught will be completely banned from the clubcard scheme, and will not be entitled to any points already accumilated. The admin and management have been in meetings over this and things are going to get tight.
For the coupons you receive every quarter with your statement, these are simply random coupons. I completely agree that Tesco are being a little tight when it comes to the coupons, but that's what's happening now customers are finding illigitimate ways of adding points; such as taking receipts.
Any replacement cards will ALWAYS have a new number. We never duplicate the same clubcard number twice, it's a standard policy. So please don't become confused when you see a different number on your new clubcard.
One other thing I have noticed when taking calls for clubcard queries is that customers tend to think that all the points go onto the one card. This is not the case. You have one account, and all previous cards are LINKED to the account. They do not "carry" the points, so please don't get confused when you think that you lose points because it's a new number. It's not the case at all. We try and offer flexibility with your cards. Typically you can use any of your previous cards in conjunction with your new card because a I explained, they are simply linked to your account.
If you have applied for a clubcard through post, please phone the clubcard helpline because the royal mail cannot be trusted. Again, I have had so many customers phone up because they haven't been sent a new clubcard when they sent their application form. I believe the royal mail to be very unreliable with these so please phone us and we can certainly have you registered over the phone and have the new card out to you within 2 weeks. The temporary card you have been using still collects points onto an empty account, so you won't miss out on any points.
The baby club vouchers are SPECIFIC to items such as nappies, milk etc.
One other thing I have to point out, there are certain products instore that have promotional points on them. Now I don't believe this promotion is displayed instore ... this I do not know why but the store is obligated to nonetheless. There are items which give you 200 points per item. I can get a list of promotional points on specific items if you like, give me a private message for this.
Our clubcard system monitors when you use your clubcard, where, what time, what till etc. This is NOT a breach of data protection as this is perfectly legal, and without this system Tesco would not be able tp provide the new schemes in place today. These receipt points everyone is referring to, Tescos head office CAN see when someone is doing this illigitimately. For instance you go shopping tomorrow, pay for it and earn your points. You go in the next day with your receipt which is dated for the day before. We can see this and please try and refrain from doing this as it really isn't worth it. As I said, we are now becoming alot more strict in terms of this.
If any one has ANY questions relating to the clubcard scheme, please do not hesitate to private message me. I am more than happy to answer any questions
Take care everyone.0 -

 Does anyone know if Tesco offer any incentives or bonus points for recommending a friend to their Credit Card?
I've just recommended a friend for online shopping and we both get 500 points when they order £50 or more on their shop. Just wondered if there was a similar scheme for the credit card?
(I'm on a mission collecting points for next year's holiday and my mum and best friend are both interested in the points collecting thing. Don't think they realise how addictive it can be though!!!)
Any info or help would be greatly appreciated x0 -
I have 2 questions!
1) Can you use the clubcard plus with online grocery ordering?
2) Has anyone ever bought extra club card points vouchers from Ebay? I see someone is selling 1000 extra points for £1.49. Has good feedback but I am not sure!!! Any experiences?0 -

Same question from me too!!! I spent ages yesterday looking at codes being sold on ebay and reading feedback.... couldn't make my mind up whether it would work or not!! Not a fortune to lose, I know, but every penny counts at the mo!
Would be keen to know if anyone out there has taken the plunge!!0 -
I bought some 500 point mobile recycling envelopes on Ebay and have been credited with the points, even though the envelopes you now get in store are 300 points.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
