  • Just got from my local store, where it's priced at £84.97p. Asked about it being priced lower elsewhere, they said some stores may have a promotion on, but they weren't prepared to match the lower £59.94 price.
Has anyone else had any luck with getting them to match the lower price?

If in Cardiff as I previously said get one NOW--- BRILLIANT --- built in tuner (Yes works excellent) Formats ALL DVD discs and records to them. Box and manual says record to DVD+R and DVD+RW only play everything else BUT popped a DVD-R in and it formatted it and recorded to it.

Also picks up WALES and WEST signals for tv

I am suer you can pay more and get better but for the money it cannot be faulted

    Check your disc types !

I could not work out why my Philips would not accept some DVD+R I bought.

After checking the discs in DVDInfo, it seems they are DVD-R discs

Must have been labelled wrong in the factory !

I picked up the 1600ME model which accepts Divx and Xvid (I've tried these, although some films had very minor interference), according to other forums the 1600MU also plays the same. I'm unsure about the 1600ZU version. You need to check the barcode sticker on the box.
