  • Morning everyone! Just remember everyone we are the 'lucky' ones and at least we are doing something, however small to sort ourselves out. When the going gets tough I just think of all the people still out there living in their 'bubble' and getting deeper and deeper into the poo!

£1.00 to halifax cc for me today....slowly chipping away!

Just had a very expensive month, so not doing PAD during November.

Decided instead to spend 15-30 minutes each day analysing our spending with a view to getting it down in 2009.

Today I have phoned the CC companies and got the end dates of 0% offers

    CC1 6400
3400 ends 12/2008 then goes up to 17.9%
3000 ends 04/2009 then goes up to 17.9%
Minimum payment seems to change every month

    CC2
2200 ends 02/2009 then goes up to 12%
    Minimum payment 2.25%

    CC3
2700 ends 03/2009 then goes up to 12%
    Minimum payment 2.25%

    CC4
    3175 6.9 LOB
    Minimum payment 2.25%

I am now spreadsheeted out so off for a cuppa :coffee:

Speak soon and best wishes to everyone

    Hi all,

    hope everyone's ok.

Well I have my payments sitting right in front of me! Off to the bank tomorrow afternoon so will transfer these as soon as I'm back in front of the PC:
    • Saturday 1/11/08= £5 to Vanquis
    • Sunday 2/11/08= £5 to Vanquis
    • Monday 3/11/08= £5 to Vanquis.
I started on Friday by paying £5 to Vanquis so that means £20 so far. I'll only update my sig when I've done the payments tomo.

Have a good day, Love Miss Shoes xxx

Feeling well hacked off now as had to go to emergency doc and I have shingles - it's not that which ticked me off as suspected it anyway, but needed to make sure as my friend is pregnant and due to call tomorrow. Need to postpone so not happy as not caught up in ages.

But the *!*$*! PC crashed whilst out and I only have a recovered spreadsheet - need to put about 2 pages of totals in again Oh well at least I printed it before I went

    Again best wishes to everyone.

  • Gilly - sorry to hear you have shingles, DS1 who is 7 had them last year, and he didnt feel poorly, but was so contagious he had to have two weeks off school.

  • Afternoon to all - Just catching up on all your posts. Welcome to all the newcomers on here.

HOPEFUL1 - Sorry to hear about your husbands wages and fingers crossed they will get sorted for the following week. You have to look on the positive side and think you didn't have to rely on the loan company and get further into debt!

PURPLEPOSTING4 - Totally understand what you were feeling , as I did exactly the same a few months ago. I'm sure if you told your mum how you were feeling and kept up with giving her regular payments I'm sure she would understand. I know she wouldn't want to see you go further into debt getting another loan with added interest!
I agree I think they stay on your file for six months. After I was rejected for a couple of things when I thought about it a few days later in a way I was relieved that I didn't get accepted. I have no defaults on my file either !

GILLY1964 - Sorry to hear you have shingles. Big Hugs to you x
Our PC also crashed this weekend and unfortunately had to go out and buy another ( On Card), but my husband needs one for work and would be totally lost without one!. I also spend time looking at my debts on a daily basis as I'm always positive that there is always more I can do to reduce them.

We are all going to have our off days , but we have all recognised that we need to do something about our debts( otherwise we wouldn't be on here!). I try to prepare myself that there are going to be harder periods to deal with ie Credit Crunch, Bills rising, and Christamas around the corner. But feel we are going to be one step ahead of all the others who are totally oblivious to their rising debts!

Just loose change for the pot today - £1.30 ( I have a loan payment coming out on a couple of days so have to be careful with what is leaving my account this week)

Catch up with you all tomorrow xx

Well, got up at 7.30 and first thing i did was to pay £5 towards a bill.

Then checked my lottery numbers and had one £12.00, so transferred that to bank and put it all to a CC.

Am not planning on spending anything today........(actually, thats a lie, its daughters 18th this month so bought an IPOD (free £40 speakers through Comet and cashback through topcashback)
  • Afternoon everyone

Having a lazy day today as its my 23rd Wedding Anniversary not going out today as we want to watch the grand prix but my Mom has given us money to go out for a meal tomorrow:j:j

Paid £20 today to Halifax CC and set up two internet savings acs ready for when our pay cheque clears one for money needed fairly quickly (ie until next small payday in 3 months) and one for the money that has to last until next big payday in 6 months. I am having to work out very carefully how much money to put in each and how much to pay off CCs now as this is where I have slipped up before but thanks to the great people on MSE:money: I have a much better plan for my finances now.

Hugs to purpleposting4 and Gilly64 and glad you are feeling better Hopeful1 I am sure being able to share things on here is a big help to us all. I know it is to me :T

    Thanks everyone

    Hi everyone,

Hope you are all ok, weather here is alot warmer today ...

Greenbynature - The snowballs were yummy :D !!! I thought by including my bad eating habits , I would ( in theory ) shame myself into cutting them out !! ... But ( in reality ) ......Not a hope in hell :rotfl: ....

Wanna Bee Free - :hello: Hi and good luck with your debts ..

Hopeful1- It's great that you are feeling alot happier today .... You have even managed to pay £1 to your Capital One card ...Well done :T

purpleposting4 - Have just noticed your " cleared debts " in your sig .... You've done FANTASIC so far :T so please don't " beat yourself up " over your " hiccup " this morning .... If i remember correctly , searches only stay on your file for 6 months . Plus you have still managed to save £2 today :D ...Well done ..

gilly1964 - Sorry to hear you have shingles  ..... hope you feel better soon :D ...

Double Trouble - Happy 23rd Wedding Anniversary :T .....Blimey you only get 25 years for life ... then you get let off early for good behaviour !! :rotfl:.... Only joking .... Have a great day ...

Here's my good and bad for today .

The good - Added £3 to my pot ( grand total of £66 ) ....
    The bad - .... Yes you've guessed it .......... it's choccy  !!
But ... in my defence i did the moneysaving option today .... instead of a mega bar of galaxy i opted for 2 curly wurleys for 30p ( 15p each ) ..... Is it me ... but have these shrunk over the years  :rotfl: :rotfl:....

Anyway enjoy the rest of the day ...

    Catch you all tomorrow ...

  • Day 2 - Sunday 2nd November

£1.00 "award" for being a no personal spend day!

£2.70 - gave DS1 £10 on Friday when he went out with his friend and his friend's family for the day, and found £2.70 in his trousers that needed washing on his return, so I have pocketed that!

£10 - I won £20 on the pools a couple of weeks ago, I've had a couple more turns since then so have spent some of it, so I decided to keep £4 in, and withdraw £10.

    Total for Today: £13.70
    Start Date: 27/11/2010
    Padding: Day 42
    Target £8000
    Amount: £562.23
