you can find the extra money by saving on what you normally spend or putting your loose change in a pot or rounding down the pennies in your bank account - i round down to the nearest £1 and do an online payment to my credit card.

i also earn extra money on ebay, surveys, bingo, mystery shopping - there are plenty of ways to make extra if you can make the effort.

today i found a pound in my bag - woo hoo - it felt like christmas!! I will put £3 in my pot today as i have found some food in my desk drawer for lunch!

I loved seeing my Barclaycard statement with £1.00, £1.50, £0.83 etc all down the page. I bet they loved all those transactions! LOL.
Although I havnt had a statement would have been nice to see MBNA with all these little transactions too. I hate MBNA!

This may have been answered before but .... If you are broke with debts how do you find this extra money?

I've been trying to stick to a shopping list and fixed budget each week, then any change I have I will put towards debts. I've deliberately cut my shopping budget by £10/week and have managed to save up enough so that when OH gets paid (which is once a month) I can pay off a bigger amount. This past month we as a family have done nothing at all which costs money! It's been a bit boring at times, but needs must. Have also been looking at my own SOA and trying to cut down like others get told to on these boards!

Some people find spare change from their bus fares or put that £1 towards a debt rather than buy a bottle of coke. Some save money earned on sites like quidco, some sell on ebay and others do their 'clicks'!

It's called a 'Payment a Day', but I tend to do bigger payments as one-offs as I save money and when I get money mid-week I always clear my bank to 0.01p anyway! I write a list of all money down to the last penny coming in and out and then you can work out your finances/debts. This thread has also helped me to remember that my debts are there, has made me want to clear them quicker and has given me support from all the lovely peeps on here! x

    Every little helps! :D

Purpleposting -congratulations on clearing a debt! Yeahhh!!!!!!!!!

I don't think i'll be on over the weekend so it's going to be £2 today, £2 tomorrow and £1 on Sunday - that will round me up to paying another £50 off. I've worked out that if we're careful we can put £400 in from DH's wage. So, that's 9 x £50 off the debt!!!! Yeahhhhhhh!!!!!! Only 47 to go! Have a lovely weekend xx

Morning everyone, I've been lurking about this thread for a while so I thought I'd finally post something. I just wanted to say I think this is a really good idea. I'm prettymuch doing the same thing but it's going into my ISA instead of coming off my debt (it's the best way of doing it for me, my diary explains why but I'm not going to ramble on about it now!). I managed to put £10 in there today from my free scratchcard :).
    Finally bought a home

Congratulations purpleposting one more debt gone:T the banks and CC companies must be getting worried about losing all that interest but at least we are paying it back and not defaulting.

DH just paid our pay cheque into the bank :j so to celebrate I am paying £22 off HSBC CC. As soon as it clears Virgin CC will be gone and a chunk will go off M&S looking forward to updating sig at the end of the month:rotfl:
