  • Thanks for all the warm welcomes! £1.50 paid off halifax credit card today courtesy of the £1.50 saved with my 5p off a litre of petrol token! Oh and 10 fags bought today and rolling baccy...so today not cheaper but tomorrow it will be.

I have a feeling my situation will get slightly worse before it gets better. I start a full time job next wednesday, but have been informed I wont be paid til end of DECEMBER!!! Nightmare as I will have to pay childcare in the meantime. However I'm not letting this put me off. I'm on a mission!

just paid £10 to dreaded virgin -god they put the interest up every month even if total is coming down

Hi Katie2407. I know exactly what you about VIRGIN putting there interest charges up. I got a letter from them a couple of months ago ( just when my interest free period had finished!) informing me that it was going from 20.9 to around 29.9  I phoned them as i thought it was a printing error, but no it wasn't ! Anyway they agreed to reduce it down so its now 23.9% ! Am try desperately to get rid of this one before any of the others.

I have put £2.75 into loose change jar for today !

    Happy Halloween to everyone x

I did the monthly food shop today and it came in at £13.87 under budget so I'll put that away to go towards the credit card when the statement comes in.:j

  • Hi everyone I am new to this site but I think this thread in particular is great. However could you answer me a couple of questions? I have noticed that some people talk about doing clicks what are they? Also I have a DMP with cccs and they are very strict about paying fixed amounts to creditors would it be worth me putting extra money into an ISA until I have enough to pay off a debt? Any help would be gratefully received.

    Hi gettingsorted
The clicks are the daily clicks people do on the cash back sites - there is a thread somewhere on here about it run by eagerlearner - I've done it myself with quidco and pigsback and moneybackmadness but there are loads of others to sign up to.
I think in your case with your DMP you might be better sticking any spare cash into an ISA
