can you not just target one debt and pay this first to reduce amount of people you owe money to i know this sounds daft as debt would reduce the same however you pay i think mentally seeing creditors get less would make me feel like i was getting somewhere ;)

I suppose you could make additional payments to one creditor if you wish. I'm sure that I'd read somewhere, though, that if other creditors find out then they don't take kindly to it and may demand you pay them more. I can't remember where I saw this. Maybe you could start a thread with the question and someone with more expertise can advise you better.

I felt like that but found a friend at work, who I trust, and confided in her. She is also in similar situation I found and now we are encourging each other. I have found it alot easier to deal with since found someone to share it with. I think you will find people you know are in a similar situation.

  • Only 54p today but every little is a step closer to Debt Free Day. Off to pay money bag money into bank account tomorrow so I have enough to pay mortagage.
So proud of myself as I have just had my last work lunch for the week and have managed to live off a loaf of bread for lunch for aweek. That means I have saved about £10 - £15 this week, which I have put towards debt, petrol etc. I even resisted lunch from the lunch van, when the special was chicken curry, helps i am feeling unwell as well today. Its all worth it.

    Hi Lelc
Thanks for that link yes it did work. Alliance & Leicester haven't took me to court they just put a default notice on my credit file?! up til now they've been really good about my reduced payments just this girl today was quite snotty about it. So they have to apply to court for a ccj first?? Well they've given me another 4 months of reduced payments before they look at my account again. I daren't make any extra payments to them in case they think that means I'm capable of paying them more iykwim?
    Thanks for you help Lelc
ps Its not a secured loan either

Afternoon all, just got this months statement for one of my credit cards today - so nice to see all the payments that have been made! And to see the lower balance! Definatly makes these small payments everyday seem worth it....so another £2.25 for me today!
