What do you guys do when the self scanners don't work... do you still go for it and buy the things anyway? I saw some of the cookaliners but didn't get any in case they scanned at full price.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -

I no longer have working scanners in my local which is why I asked for the barcode, usually if it is the same barcode and is a discontinued item it is the same price - if not I would just ask the cashier to take it off.0 -
I just ask for the items to be scanned before I put the rest of my shopping through and say if I don't want it and leave it to one side. There's never a problem - think they are used to people doing this. hthWhat do you guys do when the self scanners don't work... do you still go for it and buy the things anyway? I once asked for a price check from the cashier because the self scan wasn't working and the item came up at 1p, supervisor was called, they then refused to sell me it and asked where I got it from so they could go clear the shelves... said it was Tesco policy?! Did I just get a jobsworth?TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

I always take my 1p items through the self-scanners after the cashier asked if I knew how much the 10p air fresheners were - she sent someone over to check the shelf but I was long gone by then - paid by cash too0

Tesco Digger Ball Pit/Paddling Pool no sel but went through at £4.82, these were on an isle end in the toy section. It looks lovely and will be perfect for NannaC's littlest grandbaby. Now have just got to find a couple of bags of balls. Tesco online have them down from £4.00 to £1.60, but they were still showing £4 sel instore. Might try scanning them to see.0

This very nearly happened to me with the bacofoil bags! The checkout girl put one through then the next and held on to it and looked at the price then called her supervisor over  she told her that it was going though at 1p and was that ok, the supervisor took it and started to amble off at a snails pace - luckily I only had a few things and said "Is she going to be long as i'm in a bit of a rush" (and I was, you have to rush to our chippy on a saturday night) and happily she called the shuffling supervisor back... phew!
Checkout girl said "someone had a christmas tree for 1p this morning"0
