I managed to get hold of one at the Farnworth store, and then continued to get my shopping. They must have sold out pretty quick, because by the time I made my way around the store they were all gone. I came across a mother and son (I would guess the son was about 15) and the son was in tears because they were all gone! I really felt for them, so let them have mine - made me feel good knowing I had made their day better.
I actually had a backup plan though - knowing that there was always a chance they would be gone before I got there. I looked at some alternatives and eventually came across the H&B 3225 - which was mentioned earlier in this thread. It costs twice as much at £39.99 and doesn't come with a card reader. However, everything you need is in the box and it does appear to work with everything I have thrown at it - including HD TV shows I downloaded online.
So, moral of the story - if you got one for £20, you've got yourself a good bargain. If not, and you really want a Divx player (recommended!) - look for a H&B 3225, which even at £39.99 is a bargain for what it does.0 -

Both the Targa and the H&B3255 does not support packed bitstream out of the box. However,
Targa - has firmware available to enable pbs.
H&B - does not.
I bought a H&B awhile ago after reading rave reviews about it ... and yes, I agreed with all the pros about it ... one of the best dvd/divx players around at its price range ...if you are not planning to play files with pbs enabled.
Most xvid files downloaded from the net has pbs encoded because it is an option that is enabled by defaut in the encoding software. If that is your source for xvid files, then avoid players that does not support pbs.0 -
Got a silver one (well my friend kindly went out at 8.30 on Saturday morning to get me one) from Droylesdon store. Looks great, works great. I'm well pleased. Thanks for the post!0

Yes, I agree ... I believe there are 2, one is
H&B3255_v1.4_bitmapbrother_CP1253
However, non of them support packed bitstream. Which is why I returned the item.0 -

I've spent this morning going through all my xvid files and out of 292, only one of them had PBS. However, using MPEG4Modifier, you can remove the PBS in less than 60 seconds. Given the fact that you need to burn them to disc anyway, I don't really consider it a massive issue.0
