thank you for the offer, i really thought they were googly eyes. anyway i am going into town tomor so i will see what they have suitable. if not i will pm you . this boyes shop sounds like a dream.
I have just been asked to do a bride and groom monkey lol. so i am going to town to look for suitable pieces of satin for the bridal dress and the bow tie. anybody an idea of how i would make the tiara. i was thinking it would have to be pipe cleaners but they'll be a bit bulky.
Hmmmmmmmmm Think this will get my (non)creative brain working overtime. at least there's no rush as the wedding is 2 months away which is good as i've lots of orders to do 1st.

If you have a look in pound shops you can buy little dolls with tiara's on, you could use that if its the right size. You could make some hair out of the right colour wool as well, for the gartar if your having one, you could use a little frilly bobble I think you can get them small.

Great thanks for that. never thought of buying a doll .( shows how my brain is becoming frazzled).
i did sort the garter out and its made from a bit of old blue lace i found, and i've got the little sew on pearls to decorate the dress and make a necklace.. i seem to receive these orders at night so i don't sleep thinking of the ways i'm going to dress them.
Over the last few weeks i've made them with i-pods, ear muffs, gym attire, mobile fones etc. and last one was for a marine going to afghanistan so i dressed it in combat trousers and jacket complete with pockets.
Don't know about anybody else but i think dressing them is the most fun part and stops me getting bored with making them.

I totally agree, dressing them is so much fun:D by the time I get to sewing on the mouth I'm loosing the will to live sometimes:rotfl: but the thought of how I'm going to dress them makes it fun again.

Oh no Zoey runs and hides behind couch and peeks out lol, does this mean I am not going to able to stop. I can see it now millions of monkeys taking over the house, I may become too attached and not want to part from them.

Zoey sticks head back in and cowers scared to move due to the thought of millions on monkeys taking over her life lol.

No seriously I am loving it so far but only made one have a few ideas in my head as what I want to do next, just have to put though into practice now and get them done.

  • i'm still monkey-ing lol, i have made loads but am finding it easier to sew all the bits first - then stuff them all, then sew them all together so far i have 8 empty monkey bits and 2 stuffed monkey bits that needs sewn together. Good news is that today i borrowed my dads sewing machine.... i sat for AGES trying to get the bloomin thing to work, when i did tho i was off like a mad woman turning socks inside out, pinning, sewing, swearing, unpicking, resewing, swearing, throwing in temper etc
i need to get on with stuffing the ones i have sewn i have a feeling i don't have enough pillows tho.
can someone give me some innspiration for clothes. i have ever sewn till istarted making these - i had to go and buy a needle and thread as i did't own any. haven't got a clue where to start to even make a simple hat
my friend bought me a sqeaker for one of my monkeys when she was in town has anyone else used these?
