I need to make my sock monkey I think I am having with drawl symptoms from them lol.
Does any one know how to make the mouth look open or would this be too tricky. Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0 -
I've never tried this but get a spare heel or toe from a sock and have a play without sewing it to the monkey.
try stitching the mouth open and then stuff it, but don't stuff as much as normal. it could be done but it may take a few attempts so when you sew try to use a stitch that you can unpick easily.0 -
specsappeal - i did that not that long ago. I was sat with my leg and foot under me which got pins and needles so when i stood up i couldn't feel that my foot wasn't flat on the floor. instead i put my whole weight onto the bridge of my foot which went out with a loud crack. i tore myligaments and it was agony. so you have my sympathies and i hope that you get better soon xxx0

hi
when i need to stuff toys i head to poundland and buy a cheap cushion or pillow, the largest size i can buy (they all have safety tags on the labels re fillings) and split them open to get masses of filling for a pound, just transfer the filling to a empty plastic carrier bag0 -
Hi all

everyone's monkeys are so fab I love the clothes and accessories. you are all SO clever. I have thought about making a couple for my boys and today finally bought some socks. OH was with me and just raised his eyebrows and said he would be going out when I made them. I admit I am not the world's best at sewing but want to give it a go!
I have a question though - they are socks with skulls on, which way do I need to stich the socks (or is there no choice!)?
this should be fun:rotfl:saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Stardrops they are fantastic. I,ve only had 1 attempt at a sock monkey & it was ok but nothing great so it put me off making them. I'm going to give it another go though, got a nice pair of fluffy socks which will hopefully not show the stitching as much which was what made mine look so bad last time (well that & im no good at sewing lol)
Hugs
HelenWe don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

Helen the fluffy socks hide a multitude of bad stitches! I hand sew all mine and I can do the fluffy ones in half the time of 'normal' socks.Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0
