    Thanks for the kind comments!

Chillin_nutta - I chopped up some old tights but tbh, they are a bit lumpy for my liking. I think stuffing would make it easier to get the right shape too, specially in the arms and legs because they are so long and narrow.

pinkemsy - they are great! I can imagine it took a while to get them perfected. They still look so individual though, even when they are the 'same', don't they?

I'm hooked - everyone I know is getting one this year!

    pinkemsy - re posting photos:

What worked for me in the end was right clicking the image and selecting properties. Then highlight the code, minus the http:// bit and copy.

Then, in mse, you click the little picture at the top of the box where you type your message and you get a little box that asks you to type in the location. Just paste the code into there and voila!

I have to say it didn't work earlier today though!

Oh and you have to have your photobox setting on public.

Good luck! It took me as long to post the piccy as it did to make the blimming monkey! :rotfl:

Mine was done entirely by hand Maria. :D

I do have a sewing machine but couldn't be bothered to dig it out and I think it is easier to sew things like this by hand anyway.

    Hope this works.

Its my first time posting a picture.

I had a go at making a sock monkey :rotfl:

Ds2 has claimed him already and has named him stripe.

I stitched him by hand. The fluffy socks are great at hiding bad stitching :T

I'm going to buy some blue and white football socks and make one each for my ds1's tooball team for christmas.

Got dh keeping a look out on freecycle for a sewing machine.

    She's great!

Have you used a different pattern?

I love the cross for the mouth - looks very effective!

I used the 2nd link on Rustyflanges post on the 1st page, and to tell the truth I was running out of time to do a proper mouth, so thought I would just try a cross, and for once I got something right:D
