I didn't find it too bad to make tbh. Although I used normal length socks rather than over the knee ones, so that probably helped a lot!

The result is very cute and dd (6) has already monkey-napped her! My niece (9) and nephew (10) were also eyeing her up yesterday so guess what they will be getting for xmas!

I will definitely post a piccy when I can work out how! :huh:

There's a few things I'd change, like position of the arms, but I'm quite pleased with her overall.

Just had another look at the instructions and decided a definite 'no go' for me...........you're so clever..............:T

There's an interesting history to the sock monket as well............might be worth printing it out and giving it to the receipient (depending on age of course)

I make these and give them as gifts and sell them at craft fairs, if anyone can give me some advice on how to upload photos I will. I love making them but it's taken me a while to perfect my technique lol!

Ahh thank you. I spend a lot of time making them. They're decorative really (I put a sucker on the arm), not toys, and so I make them for babies through to adults. We have them all hanging from the ceiling in my office. I personalise them, package them up and put 'monkey food' with them. I've got a pattern for sock elephants - they're next on the pinkemsy development front!

pinkemsy-wow you have been busy and they look brilliant-I couldnt get my mouth to go right on mine so I think I will have another go later this weekend. Would you like to share your pattern for the sock elephant please? if we had to make for same family, two different animals would be ideal.

Would love to see your finished elephant as well.
