    Now,now Cuddles - no copying !!

    Only joking of course.

Cats seem to be the flavour at the moment. I wasn't sure if I was going to like him (her I suppose as she is pink), but I changed the design a bit and am quite pleased with the results. Took about the same time to make as a monkey

out of interestI weighed this one. I used 220gsm of stuffing which is about what I normally stuff a monkey because they are the same sized socks.

Know what you mean about not being sure.
Think sewing the head on may be tricky? (hence the collar?)

    he is brilliant!

do you think if i did something similar with a really big sock or tights it would make a good draught excluder?? i need to make 2 or 3 and dont want just normal ones. was going to make a sausage dog but would love a cat one as well if you dont mind me stealing your design for myself??? :rotfl:

The head stitched on OK, I was quite pleased with that and you can't see the stitching.

I decided to add the collar just to give it a bit more interest to stop it looking plain, but it would hide any bits of stitching you aren't totally happy with.

I had thought about making draught excluders too and had seen the pattern on the Boden website, but didn't like the legs on that one. They weren't laying flat so the draughts would come underneath LOL!!

I am going to use an over the knee sock to make mine, they should be long enough.

The cat came from an idea in the book Stray sock sewing too, but I changed it a bit as I didn't like the way the sock was positioned or that the back legs were sewn on separately, so I changed it a bit to make the body and both sets of legs from one sock and that meant the heel could be his bum. In the book the heel is at the front of the cat and looks a bit weird.

So have you used the heel from another sock for the head?
    That's what I'm doing.
