  • I buy my stuffing from ebay and the seller I get it from seems to be quite consistent with selling the soft, rather than lumpy, type. I do buy in 5kg lots though but im sure it would be the same in smaller values. My monkeys take about 70 - 100grams of stuffing depending on what size socks I use. :)
These are my latest two Rainbow and Olivia.

It probably depends on the size of the socks too. I use ladies socks mostly so they take a bit more, but I know I stuff quite firmly. I often wonder how the ones with less stuffing perform if they are washed etc.

I got my son to get me some stuffing from Dunelm tonight and he said he got the last two packets that were hanging up. I hope they are not going to discontinue selling it as they have been cutting down on fabrics and habby stuff.

Well I know that several of mine have been washed at 30 degrees in a machine and come out absolutely fine :j

  • I fancy a go at sock monkeys, although I don'thave a clue where to start! Suppose buying a sock or 2 would be a good idea! What template/instructions does (or did at the start) everyone follow? I don't have a sewing machine, are they easy enough by hand?
