Rusty if you use 6 strand embroidery thread for the mouth it will show even on the fluffy socks.

I bought some bargain socks today - lovely bright colours, from Woolworths. They were in packs of 5 in bargain buckets and were reduced from £5 to £3 but it was only later I realised that there was 50% off again so got 5 pairs of lovely colorful socks for £1.50!!!!!!

I've just organised acquiring a sandwich bag full of charcoal from someone, so at the weekend I'll be making two small monkeys filled with charcoal to go inside shoes and stop them smelling.

I made another one today but it is very much work in progress - i'm still unhappy with it!!! I wouldn't be confident enough to sell them yet so I must keep practising.
I have got a little tutu to put on her and a butterfly for her head but couldn't be bothered to put them on her tonight.

I just gave the diamond pattern one to my in laws who did the worst thing anyone could ever do and just turned up this afternoon... They live 80 miles away, they shouldn't really just turn up! Was great to see them though and they bought me a giant bunch of flowers.

The black monkey and the elephant are from the book... I think the elephant is better made from a long childs sock, my one has different proportions to the book one... Might liberate a pair of DD's and try...

I saw those tutu type hair things in T J Hughes at the weekend and nearly bought a few!!! But then I thought I could probably make them out of scraps of lace:rolleyes: .

Did your in laws like the monkey?? Hope they appreciated the work you put in!!!
