afternoon all. just a quick tip to all those struggling to thread needles for hand stitching. kleeneze and betterware sell Self Threading Needles. they are fab, especially for people like me who cant see anything so close up lol. the top of the needle had a slit so instead of the cotton go thru a hole its pulled down into it. if you understand that description.

and as this is the sock monkey thread here are todays pinky ones...

I have had the wings for some time now. when i see them in the shops i usually buy quite a few to keep my stocks up. and as you can imagine i buy stuff from everywhere, so it could be from places like £land, B & M, market stalls, toy shops etc. just scour local market stalls and have a good old rummage like i do before they ban you.ha

    Good Afternoon "sock monkeyers"!!!!

    - your pink sock monkeys are absolutely adorable! So cute!

After the success of my first sock monkey I have since made two more. The second one was quite troublesome, but I'm not exactly sure why? It turned out alright in the end (after unpicking some wonky arms & ears)!

Anyway, here's my two new additions.... I don't have a name for this one yet:

....but this little chap is called "Sergeant Monk" (I am going to add some Sergeant stripes to his arms at some point, but I was all "sewed out" today)!

    Thank you. :)

The white sock with black hearts was from a 3 pack bought from Peacocks (£3). The other two socks in the pack are black with flowers and black with polka dots (I think)!

I updated my "Sgt Monk" sock monkey this morning by giving him his rank, name tag and a cap badge! After all, a soldier must be smart at all times!!!!

I have one more pair of camo socks so can't wait to make another. I'll have to go back to the shop and grab some more pairs at the weekend..... they were in a clearance basket so hope they don't sell out!

Also I have a question for all the sock monkey pros on here!!! I was browsing google to investigate the world of sock monkeys and came across this site. The sock monkeys on there (which are all fab may I add) have really big mouths? How? I use the whole heel of the sock, stuffed right out and the mouths would never be that big? Is it the type of sock used? Or are the mouths made in a different way?

It looks like Sunsetgirl uses the toe for her mouth. There are two methods to cut the second sock. One creates a long tail, thin arms and uses the toe for the mouth and the second method produces a shorter tail, arms the same width as the legs and uses the heel for the mouth. I use the second method as I prefer fatter arms.

My first three monkeys are shown here. On the strength of these three I already have orders coming in!
