    he's brilliant kandipandi. i was going to make sock rabbits to go with easter eggs if i have time.

    i am just about to start on one for my sil. she is going in a party girl hamper for her birthday and i think she will a drunk sock monkey!! will be fun to make! :)

    Just starting ny first sock monkey,but having great trouble threading the needle due to my rheumatic fingers,lol.
    Any ideas to help please?

    all the monkeys look great just got my sewing machine so am going to figure out how to use it lol and get busy with some monkey makes

    My mum always puts a bit of white paper behind the needle hole and then guides the thread in, it seems to make it easier. If you thread a needle by hand, move the needle to the thread and that also seems to work for me.
    Perhaps take the needle off the machine and thread it then put it back on (if you can).

    i,m actually hand sewing my monkey,I found an old magnifying glass to hang around my neck ,so prpblem solved,I can actually see and have my hands free to thread the needle,WOOOOOOOOOOO

    Thank you for all the wonderful help and advice offered in this thread. I've enjoyed reading through it and getting inspiration from everyones wonderful sock monkeys!

    My parents treated me to an early birthday present and bought me a little sewing machine. My daughter and I tested it out today and chose to make a sock monkey as our first project.

    We used a pair of my daughters old socks so he does look a bit tatty but I'm really pleased with how he turned out for a first attempt! Introducing "Red & White" (not the most original name, but my daughter chose it)!
