Sock monkeys!

I have not sewn mouths on my monkeys... I am not such a confident sewer and worry about ruining the monkeys with wonky smiles!

Just saw a stripey rabbit toy advertised in a selection of favourite gifts at £25+ in a magazine - it was a sort of sock rabbit (like a monkey but no tail or round mouth and tall ears on top instead of round ones on the side..!) Couldn't believe the price!
Have started third sock monkey - this one is for my auntie at Christmas.

Jetty I buy the 99p or 89p for large ball of double knitting wool from B & Ms or wee cheap shops and built up my colours that way

Irishgirl I am so sorry for the late reply. completely forgot to catch up on this thread. Yes i do knit the outfits myself. i dont use a pattern tho. i just make them up as i go along. Here are a couple more




whilst i'm on, here is one i did yesterday for an engagement we went to. i only decided a couple of hours before setting off that i would do something with the monkeys.

Hi all

This thread gave me inspiration to make my own sock monkey. My first one was okish but the kids saw him and wanted one so they are having one in their xmas eve hampers.



This one is for dd and has a hat and scarf to match hers.

Thanks to everyone. I would never have thought to make it if not for finding this thread!
