Sock monkeys!

oh I am so behind with mine....have only done 3 1/2 out of 7 still!! Someone give me a kick up the bum and make me get on with them....time's a runnin' out!!

Loupoppins I know how you feel. I have to do ones for dh, ds1, 2 neices and dh's little brother and sister. so 6 more plus maybe another one for dd as someone may want to buy the one i have done already!!!! The important ones are for the kids, not going to stress about anyone elses!!! they can get them for next xmas!!!!!!! :P

for young ones at that age I have done, thomas the tank engine. bought socks with red buses on and some with numbers, letters etc and used them as t-shirts. made bright matching hats n scarves.

Very good !!
Would be scuttling off to get sewing...except Dh has bought a bottle of wine....and it's Friday....and...and....:o
OK,OK.....will do at leat 1/2 hour on one tonight....and aim to have 5 finished by end of weekend.;)...so 2 left to do...not to mention all the scarves to knit....sigh...:cool:

Chatty, they are amazing! I love the knitted hats. I like the monkey with frogs on! Will look for socks like that I think. thanks.

Does anyone know where to get sparkly stripy socks from? Someone wants to buy a sock monkey off me and they want pink and sparkly. I cant believe it! I hoped that I could maybe sell a few next year but didnt think anyone would actually ask me to make one for them after seeing the picture on facebook!!

the more you do ladies the quicker you 'll be. I have been making these for well over 15 months and can now do one in 40 minutes. i have some challenging requests. ear piercings, lip piercings. pink hair. holding mobile fones, long blonde curly hair, cowboys, guitars, fisherman, ballerinas and the list goes on. Lol

So dont give up just make more and more. :rotfl::rotfl:

but dont try to make them too perfect because the character of the monkey will be there whatever, even with odd length arms or wonky ears.

Going to make some drawstring bags (i.e. circle with holes and ribbon) and have mine holding a bag of gold coins for Xmas presents I think.
