I use a zig zag stitch, as I found the running stitch broke when the monkey was played with (my 4 year old is a brilliant toy [STRIKE]destroyer[/STRIKE] tester!!)

I'm loving these...so far they are both spoken for by my children, but our friends kids will be getting them for Christmas once I've perfected the sock/stitch combination!! :santa2:

Way hay - just figured out how to post piccies (sorry camera playing up at mo.

This is my little sock monkey made from baby socks outgrown by my 18 month old!! Not too keen on the colour, may need a waistcoat and hat. Very pleased with the eyes (used felt) - everything totally handstitched.

Ears were the hardest to do.

Having said that, have some nice funky adult sized sock from M&S sale so will be making a couple for my nephews.
