whats wrong? have you been on you tube to see if you can get help
google your machine name, i used to teach machine knitting about 20 years ago and got rid of machine, decided cos dd said she was having a baby (due now) to get a second hand one and omg forgot how to use it

    have you threaded it correctly?
if so hold the thread and turn the knob on right hand so the needle goes down it will pick the spool thread up , give the top thread a pull and you should see the cotton, hope this makes sense

Thanks for your help :) The bobbin just won't hook up and as far as i can see, i have threaded it right. It was so much easier when i was 10 on my mum's antique sewing machine!!

have you put the thread in the bobbin clockwise and pulled the thread out to the wee slit on side of bobbin case?

Yep, i've done it exactly as the book said, but it just won't pick up the bobbin. Do i leave a certain amount hanging out the bobbin or none at all? If i do, do i have to put it somewhere around the bobbin casing? You can tell i know nothing about sewing machines!

Yes you leave thread hanging out of the bobbin case and when u put the bobbin case back in till it clicks then using the wheel bring down your threaded needle and it should pick up the thread hanging out, i am hopeless at explaining things

Hi Jetty forgive me if this seems a silly suggestion to you but are you sure the needle is in the correct way. i know some machines will only let you put the needle in one way but others don't. the needle has a round side and a flat side.
