Freebie Successes by Letter / Email - What have you recieved? (merged)

Recieved 2 freagrance samples from jo malone today , another item to add to my list of freebies this month , still not had no reply from mcdonalds so i am now going to contact them again...!!

I brought some elizabeth shaw chocolates which were awful! All nasty and white even though they were still in date - i sent them back and they were kind enough to replace the chocolates and send a few more along with a lovely letter.

Considering that the crisps were Smartprice and worked out to about 6p, the stamp was 39p, and the envelope worked out to about 7p making a grand total of 52p, then a £2 gift card in return isn't bad at all.

Unfortunately I live no where near an ASDA and always get my shopping online, so I can't actually use the gift card. However, its my mum's birthday coming up in August, so I might put it in her card as a bit of fun!

I have been really busy today writing letters and e-mails whenever I have had a break at work!

I have complimented Caffee Nero and Costa Coffee on the quality of their food and Pizza Hut on the quality of their customer service at my local store (all genuine compliments).

I have also written a letter to Dominos Pizza asking for some buy-one-get-one-free vouchers, but I can't e-mail that off as I can't find a UK e-mail address, and I am out of stamps!

I will let you know how I get on!

My best ever "freebie" was from Fisher Price. We wrote off to them (and other companies) to ask if they had any free toys we could have for the waiting room. (hospital). They sent loads of things, including a toy kitchen. Most of the other companies either didn't reply or wanted something in return like promotion. Some offered teddies/dolls.
Obviously I wouldn't expect them to do this every time (or they'd run out of money!) but for anyone who works in a GP surgery/nursery etc I think its worth a shot to try these big companies, especially if you would say it was donated by them. If you don't ask, you don't get!

...on a negative note.
I once rang Heinz because I had found a dead maggot (!) and a fly in a tin of macaroni cheese. I wasn't intending to complain I just wanted to let them know in case there was a problem and give them the batch code etc. I spoke to a very snotty woman who basicly told me I must be lying because there would not be two foreign objects in one tin!!!
Needless to say I make my own mac n'cheese now. Had I been a MSEr I would have caused a fuss but I was young and stupid!

I received an e-mail back from my letter to Costa Coffee yesterday just saying thank you for getting in touch, its good to get feedback (especially positive feedback, they are looking forward to my continued customer. All very nice, but sadly no vouchers!
