On a different note, my OH was ordering from Jessops using a discount code... get 1 photobook, get one free, and as he was altering some other information the code he'd typed in disappeared. He didn't realise he'd been charged for 2 books until it was too late so he emailed them straight away asking to cancel one book or for a refund for half.
They replied saying they couldn't do either but credited his account with £10, no hassle at all! The voucher had only been worth £6.50.
I nearly told him not to bother because many companies are a bit precious about their voucher codes but Jessops seem to be the exception!! V. impressed.

Good luck with Cross-Country... we complained to them at New Year when we were sold first class tickets only to find out the usual first class facilities didn't operate over Christmas/New Year. We complained and got a cut and pasted reply that didn't even answer the question, let alone admit that they were in the wrong or offering to make it up to us. I was tempted to write back but didn't bother. I was a naive Moneysaver back then... I wouldn't let them fob me off now! :-)
Good Luck with them... don't let them get away with it!

    Thanks.

I won't go into the first complaint but the second one is: My phone rang when I was sitting in the Quiet Carriage. I thought i was on vibrate. I answered it and was just picking my handbag up to go out of the carriage to complete the call when the manager runs up to me and hangs up the phone and has a go. I turn my phone off, too intimidated to say anything. Someone ELSE's phone, clearly a Nokia, which I don't have, keeps bleeping with texts. He comes in my face, really close and snarls that "I told you not to use that phone" like I'm 7 years old in school, and when I said....TWICE, it's not mine, mine is off, would you like to see it? (last bit sarcastically), he flounced off and I was so upset I left the carriage...one I;d booked as I knew I'd be tired and delicate. He was really nasty...and when I think how much I paid etc...and everything else that went wrong that day, I want something done about it.

I haven't received any vouchers from my letters for a few days now!

However, I have just sent off a complimentary letter to AMT coffee about their wonderful brownies, which really are delicious! I will have to see how I get on with this one!

  • I ordered a photobook through boots at christmas and due to their supplier going under id waited till FEBUARY to be told that my book could not be done. They then gave me a full refund WITH a store card to the tune of £50!!! Better still after spending the card on some after shave i was awarded with a £5 cosmetics voucher for spending the lot at once!!

you are lucky...the smae happened to my OH while he was ordering prints...we called cs immediately..and was told this: you should look properly before clicking next time. Where the order has gone throught, we cannot do anything about it.
