I wrote a letter of compliment to Starbucks and I got three vouchers for any drink, any size.
I have got a couple of busy days at work now, but once these are over I will also be writing to Cafe Nero and Costa telling them how good Starbucks are and asking what they can offer me to make me have my coffee there rather than at Starbucks! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I also received a small sample (5ml I think) of Jean Paul Gaultier 'Madame' after sending a letter requesting to try before I buy.'I can't deny the British influence on my accent and mannerisms, but I don't know the British national anthem, I didn't weep for Princess Diana and I always cheer when Britain loses at sport. That's how British I am' Constantine-Simms. :T

After reading this board I thought I'd give it a go... emailed Bottlegreen, Phileas Fogg and Dr. Oetker with compliments, product suggestions and recipe ideas and have only heard back from Bottlegreen, to say thank you.
Thomas Cook have had a pretty serious complaint letter for 2 weeks now and have not acknowledged it!
So not having much luck!
Have had 2 responses from complaints but in my experience you have to be willing to follow complaints through. I complained about my stay at Malmaison and ended up with the general manager chatting to me for about 45mins about what I'd written, but I was given a free night in return. When I contacted Neutrogena about a product they acted immediately sending a pre-stamped envelope for me to send my product back to them.
The compliments don't seem to work so think I'll go back to the competitions!!0 -

well you have more time on your hands than i do if you can sit there and type out the letter spelling mistakes and all!!!
but my point is about the greed of pushing for more when you had a free holiday??? why on earth would a full refund not be sufficient as long as no harm came to anyone and by your own admission you enjoyed the holiday???
the amount of people who make up complaints in order to get a free holiday or get compensation is amazing, without people who recieve a full refund asking the board members " is this enough or shall i push for more?"It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

Compliments DO work! Just keep trying.
I've received freebies from Colgate Palmolive, Jean Paul Gaultier and Starbucks after complimentary e-mails about their Soft and Gentle range, their new fragrance and their Frappuccinos (respectively, obviously!).
I've only been doing it for a couple of weeks and I've only sent off about five or six e-mails, so my return rate isn't too bad!
Just keep at it.'I can't deny the British influence on my accent and mannerisms, but I don't know the British national anthem, I didn't weep for Princess Diana and I always cheer when Britain loses at sport. That's how British I am' Constantine-Simms. :T

i agree with elljay20 - a full refund is super! there is no need to push for me when it seems to be you have said you enjoyed your time there. why not take the refund, and cut your 'losses'
i had a really bad stay at a hotel in rutherglen - think it is just outside glasgow - i paid £75 per night (stayed 2 nights) but it was horrible! there was mould on the walls, and there was a gap under the door big enough for me to fit my foot under whilst wearing boots! it was horrible- but I was too shy/embarassed to complain! then i found this site! too late for me lol!!!0 -
What was the hotel?0
