Freebie Successes by Letter / Email - What have you recieved? (merged)

I love reading all these freebies etc, and often complain myself about imperfections with products, but please can someone give me ideas on how to get some free items from companies via email.
What do you write in order to ask for some samples etc?

After reading these I decide to let a few companies know how much I like there products, especially as my evil pregnancy symptons have upset my tase buds and my skin so much. Had a lovely email from Tetleys, sending me some vouchers, A lovely email from andrex, after I asked about their wet wipes and if I could try them, I have been a long customer of their toilet rolls! Awaiting to hear from a few others, but I have only contacted the products I use and buy. Thanks for the inspiration on here

I tried to get a free sample of the black grouse but the webpage said they had all gone. I sent an email to grouse and said my friend hads told me of an offer to try a free minature black grouse and my partner loves whisky (which he does) and could i please have a sample to try, i got a reply saying they werent sure which promotion i was talking about but they will send me a minature anyway, i recieved the email monday, receieved my minature this morning really pleased, its in a glass bottle aswell! hahahaha xx

I wrote to Usborne books as a sticker dolly dressing book i got my little girl was a pain...none of the stickers would stick properly and my daughter got really frustrated with it. They sent me another copy of that book plus a different sticker dolly dressing book,...my daughter is thrilled and the stickers stick this time...so YAY :j

I wrote to a new chewing gum company suggesting how they could keep their chewing gum packets from of the streets, and I also asked for a sample. Because they liked it, they sent me a pack:D

I told McCain's that their smiley faces looked very happy and tasted as good as they did when I was in school. They replied with a thank you and are sedning me some vouchers!

OOh I take back what I said about both nandos and pizza hut! Pizza Hut finally got in touch, and they are sending me a giftcard, dont know how much for, but anything is a bonus and im just glad theyre going to talk to the rude waitress! And nandos never emailed back, i'd almost given up but yesterday I got a voucher through for a free full platter (worth nearly £20) and a lovely letter xx

I complained a couple of weeks ago to Mcdonalds because there was so much salt on the fries that they were inedable. I got a lovely letter through the post this morning appologising about what had happened, they also enclosed 4 free meal vouchers! Guess what were all having for dinner tonight lol.

I also emailed a massive complaint letter to Harvesters on Monday after a terrible experience in one of there restaurants, we waited 45 mins for our food to turn up and when it did my 16 months old son's was undercooked so I complained to the waiter (who was actually very helpful) who sent it back for us, we then had to wait a further 20mins for them to bring it back, by this time me son had eaten half of my dinner! I could not belive what was in front of me when he put the plate down, all they had done was recook the same piece of meat until it looked like a lump of charcoal! ....... I am still waiting a reply from them!

Sent emails to Lush & Pawridge so far - (both genuine compliments) and had 2 lovely emails back. No vouchers though

I must say i am happy to see people sending in compliments to get free samples rather than what used to happen and people making up complaints.

I have written to Jaccobs recently as the crackers i got were burnt they sent me Three quid in vouchers then the ones i got with that were burnt too so i gave up.

i have recently written to redmill about the 15p snacks i brought a tenners worth and they are all over flavored i have asked them to change the recipe back if they have changed it rather than send me anything.
